I started the oil pan gasket project

Ok i've started the remove the oil pan, and there is a motor mount, that is connected to the oil pan, and as i was removing the bolts to the mount i forgot to grab something to keep it in place, sooo now i can't get my bolts back in the designated holes, soooo can i drive my car without the bolts there in the mount or is it not recommended?

no you need that mount theres only 2 for the motor. i'm bout to redo my pan also . the best thing to do is use a jack and lift the motor a lil at a time til you can get the bolts back in just dont dent the pan while your raising it

All you need to do is just lift the engine up a little and loosly bolt in the aluminium mount to the oil pan. Then let the engine down over the rubber mount and tighten the bolts.

boy do i feel stupid, when i removed mine i took off the mounts and dropped that huge piece the mounts are bolted to, which was a royal pain in itself to remove.
