well bot times I have gotten my car to idle I have had to keep my foot on the gas for 10 seconds and then it idles, If I dont then it will stall and die......I searched and I could not find a solution...I searched for TPS and I got nothing. What could be wrong? How can I fix it? I will be going to San Jose today to insatll my boost gauge and clean out the interior and I would like to know if there is a fix for this.
Sounds like the cold start system (supposed to raise the idle when cold) isn't working properly. It's the thermal wax unit on the back of the throttle body with the coolant lines flowing through it.

yeah...it goes down to 900 and the stalls out........after it is kinda warm it will idle on its own.......Should I find a fix or leave it alone?

Junk yard will be your best bet to find the thermowax, but it's not really a major problem unless it annoys you.
My car does the same thing and i have to hold the throttle open until the car has warmed up enough for me to drive it around.

I am having a similar problem with idle, where after the car starts it idles at 1500 then drops under 1000 then goes back to 1500. It seemed to stop doing this after a few minutes, is it because the engine needed to be warmed up?
