I really messed up

While my husband was at work, I thought I could figure out how to run the codes on our 1991 non turbo conv. Since it would not flash on the wire that I though was the one to read from...... I just kinda jumped around.... I blew something, the wire got warmish and now the Check engine light does not come on at all.... AND she wont start now either, I gotta fix it before 5 tonight anyone have any ideas? I grounded a black/white wire that was in a connector that was near the battery. it was a white connector that has like 10 connections but only had 4 wires actually connected to it ..... Help me what did I blow I checked the fuses inside the car and under the hood.... they r good.....

Check all your fuses before you replace the ECU.

Sounds like you did some damage.

What part of Alabama are you from?

I may have an ECU to sell you (if that is what you need).

The voice of experience says:
First tell the truth, then ask for forgiveness.
Next check the fuses.
Next borrow a test ECU.

first check all fuses. Then, more than likely youll need an ecu. the convertibles run an n353, which is mapped for nonturbo (the stock convertible) as well as turbo. You can, however, run a stock 89-91 nonturbo coupe n351 ecu with no side effects; apparently mazda just wanted to put one ecu into all 'verts, and since theyre turbo in japan, they made the 353 to run both turbo and nonturbo engines.

I have several 351s if you find out you need it. hypntyz@charter.net

Centre, AL near Leesburg? I have relatives near there.

Helena is just south of Birmingham.

Yea he will notice. Don't hide it, if you actually did fry the ECU that is major damage.

I looked and I don't have an ECU that you can use. Your best bet is to get one from hypntyz7.
