I ran a Supra Mk VI

Yo,
I just ran a Toyota Supra Mk Iv.... that's the twin turbo version with tons of *****.... first off I'll tell you the noticeable mods...

HE HAD.... the Veilside side skirts and a badass front end, with HKS and Apex'i stickers, along with Penn State sticker in the back (by the way, I go to PSU, so this is no shocker). I'm assuming he had a little engine work done since he had all the body accents with the stickers advertising some decent brands.

I HAVE... a RB turbo-back exuast and FCD. I'm pushing around 10 psi with no extra fuel (may be a bad idea.... but I can't afford anything...)

Anyways.... I gave up on racing, cause no one was around, but I had seen this badass supra a couple times today. So I pull into my apartment complex... and there's the supra. I put my **** in reverse and pulled onto the street I knew he was going to, and he proceeded to pull out. Of course he got the jump on me, and I'm assuming he missed second gear, cause I was right with him after I got into second. We came around a half bad corner at about 70, so he slid into oncoming traffic, and I stayed in my lane (probably cause he was about 5-10 mph faster at this point). So after this, we decide to slow down until the traffic light.

At the light, we both make a left turn, and we both get on it. My back end spun a little, so I made a quick shift into second a little early and notice that he's pulling a little on me. Then I blew by him.... so I knew he backed off. We both toyed around a little to find the right speed ( about 40 mph) then I gunned it. He apparently did the same, because after a bout 3 seconds, he blew the **** out of me.

I slow down... so does he. His passenger puts down the window. I told the guy his car was beautiful and he asked if I gave up on the race. I told him I did on the last one, but on the first, he was definately pulling away. And once again, I told him that his car was awesome...... so....

Moral of the story is.... A Twin Turbo Supra may look good, but it can also beat the ******* **** out of a single turbo 2nd gen with very little mods. However.... I saw a ferrari 355 and it did NOTHING compared to running with this beautiful machine called the MkIV supra.

Unhappy

I hate to say it... but I don't think a bigger turbo would've helped too much at all against this beast.... it was an exceptional vehicle... and as much as I love the Rx7... tonight I vowed to someday own a TT Supra

yo yo, bling bling man... What kind of rims did he have on it? Some of those cars have some Phat rims which make em like 2 times faster than a turbocharged 6 cylinder CamaroVette! My mom has this RWD Civic Hatchback Spyder convertable Type Z, But the clutch in the auto-tranny is going bad, so we are going to put in a 454 with an LSD DSM supercharged Rotory Gurter...

I want a TT Supra =)

sorry I had to =( I had to post this, felt like the right thing to do..

Next time dont race him from a punch especially a 40mph punch. I too made that mistake before. Make it from a dead stop or like 5 mph. With a roll supras are alot faster because they spool the turbo. From a dead stop it would have been more fun. There is always next time. Just remember those things cost around $20k used. With $5k your car coulda hung with it.

A different turbo, with the appropriate fuel setup, can make significantly more power than the stock turbo. The stock turbo can only make about 270 HP max. A good upgrade can make over 400, even more if your motor can handle it.

Well I've gotta say that I'm feeling alot better about my TII now that I'm seeing that so many people have faith that they can hang with the big boys with a little spending cash. Only problems with mine is, I'm probably doing paint and maybe a little interior this winter, which leaves me with absolutely no money to spend on the good ****. Someday I'll get my T04 and all the goodies to go with it.... Someday.....

my neighbor has a 98TT single turbo supra...HOLY CHRIST! i rode in it when it was BPU (intake, downpipe, exhaust, FMIC, boost controller) and WOW...it was FAST AS SHIIIIIIIT. by far the fastest car i've been in. then i got a ride in it when he put the single in (not sure what size)...and i almost **** my pants. the force that it puts you in the seat almost made me blank out

they might be a little on the big side...but i got to test drive a BRAND NEW Supra RZ TT when i was in japan this summer. it was awesome. didn't feel as tossable as my rex...but certainly handled better. and even for stock it was very quick. the turbo's were so smooth you didn't even realize how fast you were accelerating. i will also one day own a Supra...i'd take one over an FD anyday.

13BAce was referring to the RX-7 TII when he said that. The stock turbo Mazda equips TIIs with is only good for about 270 hp. MKIV's do have about 320 or so.
