I now know why my BONEZ is leaking!!! READ THIS ALL
Rotary Performance finally got back to me and they told me the Bonez system will not fit the car (1990 NA) because it is a AUTOMATIC. tranny is too big!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I told you guys there was a problem with the fitment not jsut my lack of know how.
I am pissed a little, there is no info to say that it will not work for the 90 auto listed anywhere.
they told me if I hadnt started the car with it on then I could send it back!!!
well how the hell would I know I had a problem with leaks if I never cranked the car?
I told them I may never buy from them again.
what a crappy place to deal with. they told me I would have to modify it to use it
no ****, like I didnt know that now.
just thought i should throw that out ther.
yes I will do the 5spd swap in the future. but for now I have to drive auto.

when you order it it gives you a selection 86-88 auto 86-91 manual you have a 90 so you must not have read it right and understood it but i am curious of how you have to mod it to make it work

91 - I JUST checked the site AGAIN and what it says is:
86-88 AUTOMATIC
86-91
It does not specify 89-91 5 SPD!!!!!! I did not know I had to assume that if it did not say "AUTO" then it was 5 SPD only. It could just as well be taken as ALL MODELS 86-91. like I did. so, dont tell me "I read it wrong" when I read jsut what was there and no less, no more.
as far a modding it. not sure. going to have to be cut apart and re-welded with the adjustments.

Don't know how long ago you purchased the system, but as they aren't going to do anything about the problem, I'd stop payment if done by credit card. Must say that RP has been fine with me, but it sure looks as though they dropped the ball on this one. Years ago I purchased a HKS cat back system for my TII. It was a POS, so I stopped payment. Took a while, but received credit for the full amount.

o bought the bonez cat 2 and they sent me one for a 5speed and i called them cuz it didnt fit my auto car. they said i could 1) hit the presilencer till it was bent enough so it would fit or 2) send it back and get the right one. so i took the 2nd one and got the right one nad it went right on kust bolted right up. and not when i do the 5speed swap i wont have to buy one for an auto. i just wont have a presilencer. no big deal tho.

I have this too. I just decided to live with the noisy sonof a bitch leaking. I have to do emissions next month though, so I'll probably beat the **** out of it until it fits right.

After reading that I would say that it would only fit on a 86-88 auto tranny car...but I admit it is a little vague.
But I would have called also, since it clearly does not say 89-92 automatic.

I had the same problem on my 86 base auto.
I took it to Midas and they fabricated a pipe that could clear the auto tranny and still used the Bonez end that connected to the exhast manifold. The only problem is that the pipe that Midas fabricated sits a littler lower than the Bonze setup.

well my muffler guy can defintiely do it . he has done many jobs for me before that nobody else would try but I didnt want to have to take the time and have him do it. usually takes a while for him to squeeze me in.
anyhow. nothing I can do about it now but deal with it.
yes, I guess I could have read between the lines and figured it out that it was not for an auto BUT they could have also put down on the site 86-91 5spd. when I ordered it I just selected the year pertaining to my car and really didnt stop and think about what the other selection said.
it could easily be avoided if they jsut put in the 5spd only fact.
I dont even remember what went on that day when I ordered but I am sure I was tired and busy and overlooked the possibility.
how did I know the auto tranny was a large POS that would be in the way?
