Rebuild video from akinsrotary.com or rotaryaviation.com

I think maybe a full rebuild kit would be in order . As you would not know what you might be needing.

ps; you might wanna try the search button too:P

For reliability, I have learned to use stock Mazda apex seals, they seem to be the least resistant to warping and are the most "housing-friendly" seals. Also if you want a longer-lasting engine then save up your cash for new rotor housings. Good used ones are often used, but you might not get more than 40 or 50k miles out of them before rebuilding again. There are several good threads on this stuff so use searches.

When rebuilding just take your time, pay attention to detail, meaning clean the parts well, chase the threads on all the major fasteners such as the tension bolts, and the front housing.

As mentioned above I would buy the Atkins video, made the rebuild process much easier, and dumbs it down, reading isn't as fun when you have a video with **** music in the background, and the voice of the announcer at a strip club.

Good luck.

Good luck.

I don't mean to suggest not to use a housing that is on spec, the engine I'm rebuilding right now will have used ones. Most good used housings have slight warpage and thickness variation, at least some chrome flake, and mild chatter marks even within spec. I was illustrating the difference in longevity between new vs used.......da man said he was looking for longevity....lol

Reusing housings depends on your budget. They are great for getting the engine back running for cheap, but won't last as long, its a proven fact. Even if its in spec if could only last 30k miles, or it might last 80k, it all depends. I'm actually going to get my housings cermet coated by JHB (once I get more money), but thats almost as expensive as new housings, approx 310 per housings plus shipping.
