Question I need help from some pros

I have a streetported motor with 3mm seals with under 7,000 miles on it that I was going to put into my 88 tII, but my friend has a 91 na that he had streetported, along with a turbo and fmic added.

I need advice would I be better off with my motor or should I buy his car from him?

well that all depends on the car you are putting it in, and does his N/A have all the necessary stuff to support the turbo? Like ecu, sensors, or fuel controller of some sort? give us as much info you can and we will then help you out!

I have the safc and 720 injectors fuel pump fmic .... for the other car and his car has a trans, rear, dif from a tII his car has been turbo for over a year now and it has been running fine. I guess my real question is witch motor would be the best platform for me to use to make the most power. o and his motor is about a year old also with minimal miles

things to concider,
Ported engine or not?
type of ECU whether turbo or N/A? Or even better stand alone.
amonut of miles on rebuilds and how they were driven!

Personally If I were you I would go with putting the engine you have back in your TII!

both motors are ported I have two TII's that I will be keeping even if I buy the 91, so that should leave me with enough stock parts to make it work, If thats what you ment. The 91 had been sitting for almost 5 months and it started right up today, which suprised me. The car is in good shape, and it has had its share of beating, but my motor has had a little of the same.
Its a red 91 with black interior it has intake and exaust, and a bov. I am wondering which of the two motors do u think would give me the least amount of headaches.

Thanks again

personally I think that the motor with the 2mm seals (assuming ports are the same) would give you the better gain unless when the 3mm engine had the rotors blueprinted before being milled for the 3mm. Because I have yet to see anything that proves that 3mm is better infact my own theorys seem to dictate that they are worse! PM me if you want details! I don't want to start a flame war!

If I were you I would go with the engine with the least amount of Miles, and the one with the larges port!

Why is he selling his car? If his has been running for over a year, and it runs solid, and unless you have a strong emotional attachment to your 88 TII or he's asking too high a price, I don't see any reason not to just buy it. Way less of a headache. Make sure and go over it with a fine tooth comb though and make sure it's running right.

he is selling the car because he has too many toys and he just bought a new truck. It is a great price, but thats not what im worried about. I want to know which motor would be the best platform.

The TII engine is the beast platform. Turbo NAs can make great power, but the TII engine was designed from the start to be turbocharged, has better porting potential, etc.

I agree with aaron that is why I had said above the one with the larger ports! And the turbo almost defninitely has bigger ports! and can be ported larger in the end that an n/a block!

Sorry, I misread your post. I thought he had dropped a Turbo block into the NA. If it's an aftermarket turbo on a naturally aspirated block, forget it and use your engine.
