haha, nobody flamed you because the idea of putting them on a RX-7 is so bad that nobody would even dignify it with a flame.

or something

Sorry I upset you... I was just teasing a little...

In my area everyone has them on any pistion engined car you can find... didn't mean to offend your tastes.

If I find a site that sells then or has them I will post it for you however.

and BTW, IMHO 90% of the body kits out there for both the FC and FD make the car uglier... But thats just me.

naw, there are a whole lot of nice ones.
I love the widebodys for the FCs and quite a few of the fronts for FCs, on FDs there are a bunch of good kits :-D But yeah FD's are damn sexy stock

If I wanted Altezzas, I would buy a Honduh or better yet I would buy a $30,000+ Honduh, AKA Lexus IS300.

On another note, I have never seen any for sale that were not custom. I have seen alot of sites that sell aftermarket parts, and I have seen nothing even close. Although I get asked by other rice children if my 91 vert tail lights are aftermarket, and I say no, when you get a car this nice, they come stock

I did give some custom lighting a try on our Project 86. They were headed towards to Skyline style, but the fiberglass/bondo and everything else we put in it cracked when we went to the dragstrip

Just my .02HP, I mean no flames, to each his/her own.

Why all the hate? I happen to like altezza's as well. I love my 7 & am sure thta my car would look better than a Honda with them. Too many haters in here. RICE is when u slap stickers on a car sayin "GReddy" & **** like that when u don't even have an intake. RICE is when you do visual stuff to your car because everyone does. By putting altezzas on a 7 you are being different. I plan the same **** soon. Quit hatin guys, lights don't make a car. Not like hes puttin a DOHC honda engine in a 7.

My car's white with D-Speed front and side clears and I get compliments frequently - from regular people; not ricers.

If I could find nice clear tails I'd install them without hesitation.. Anyone who thinks clears on RX-7's are rice probably hasn't seen them on an RX-7. And they look especially good on white. I think they'd look equally good on black but probably a nogo for any other color...

Stickers, Veilside and fart cans are rice.

If you really want them so bad, there was a guy in this forum way way back that was advertising this altezza lights. He makes them and they look OK. If im not mistaken, last time i heard he started practicing with the 89-91 tail lights. Do a search here in the forum and also scroll down on the forsale ads at the TEAMFC3S.Com(org).
I personally have not seen anything like the ones from Honduhs, i mean Hondas but i think white FC with Altezza lights are hmmm OK.

Ya, clears look good on white & black, I think they would look the best on a silver car. Thats what I was plannin but now I might go with carolina blue. O ya, the guy advertises on www.teamfc3s.org . Go to the classifieds & his email is pyschodad13 or sumin like that. If you got all clears thats illegal right? I might check in with him to see if hes worked out the 89+ ones. If someone could make everything clear on those except the round part that actually lights up, it would look sooo damn sweet.

If it was on a white car, and they were '86-'88 style tails I think it would look decent, especially if they were painted like the ones on the 10AE.

I like the stockers on the '89-'91's too much to ever think about switching, although I imagine if it were done right it could look good.

I'm sorry, but I don't think Altezza's would look good at all. There are very few cars out there that can pull those things off well and I don't think the RX-7 is one of them.

I have to go with the majority here, Altezza's belong on the cars that come with those lights stock (except Ford Lightnings). If you want round taillights, why not switch your stock ones for 89-91 tails? First comes the Altezza's, then the indiglo gauges are sure to come.

Yo,

I just think using "Altezza" as a description for clear tail lights really says it all. The Altezza started the trend, and if you put 'em on your car, you are simply following that trend. Same thing with the Supra twin turbo. Outrageous wing, and huge tip.

You can't make fun of Altezza's (IS300) or Supra's for their obviously "ricey" features, because they started the whole thing. They were the first, thus making them fresh and original. If you adapt that styling to your vehicle, it is clearly derivative for all to see.

That's my opinion on clear tail lights, huge wings, and big tips. *grin* And don't get me started on Z3 Fender Gills on Civics.

1989 GTUs "The 1989-92 RX-7 Tail lights are the best tail lights ever made, get /those/."

Smells like rice...

your probably right, you guys dont waste your money on body kits or wings either right? or white guages or pedal covers? thats what i thought
As far as i'm concerned, Precisely.

All those things are chock full of RICEY GOODNESS.

Any "dressy mod" that is not serving a performance purpose is rice.
Any "power mod" that is a "fake" version of a real performace "mod" is rice.

Body kits / wings that either:

A) RADICALLY change the car to look like a completely different car, qualifies the car as a custom vehicle. These people intend to build on the rotary platform, and therefore are NOT "truely" rice.
(Mariah Motorsports comes close, but still actually qualifies as rice in some ways.)
---note...
___As far as the other body mods that fall between
___complete rebuild and rice...

___I consider any body alteration that looks like the next
___logical progression, or what looks like what Mazda
___WOULD have done (like this nose -maybe-.)
___You can see variants of this nose in Mazdas' own concept drawings.
___This "grandfathers" looks like this so that they could arguably
___be considered "not rice".

B) Genuinely have a mechanical function (like a new grille for a larger intercooler for your 20b twin turbo!)

I, personally, prefer the understated, stock look.
Some call it "sleeper".

But I beleive it says MORE and is more "respectable" to have a sleeper that is CRAZY powerful, and makes "people say look at that car!", than to have a car that says "look at me!".

It only makes it worse that most of the "look at me" (rice) cars are less powerful (and mostly sillier looking) than their stock counterparts, because the drivers spend more time "whoreing up" thier cars than truly maintaining / modding them.
-peace

I reserve the right to "hate", or laugh my *** off at somebody's car if it looks pathetic. People have a right to do what they want to their cars, and I have the right to laugh at them.

I don't have a problem reading my guages at night. The only problem I have is seeing through the steering wheel.

Personally, I think white face guages look crappy on the FC. It just doesn't go well with the rest of the interior. Think about it, everything in the cockpit that lights up is amber in color. You put in the white face guages and now you have these big white things right in front of you, that are completely mismatched with the rest of the controls. I think that looks guady and tacky, or as some people would say, ricey.

My rant on "rice". There are many mundane cars out there that need cosmetic modification to look good, like a Civic. There are billions of these cars on the road and you see them everywhere. They're plain, common, and pretty boring looking.

The RX-7 is far from a mundane, run of the mill car. You don't see them everywhere, or at least not to the extent of a Civic. They look good, in stock trim. Although I would argue that the early model FC's need a few updates to make them look as good as the later model ones, but I wouldn't go so far as to install a body kit.

As long as I keep getting compliments on my car, I will not change a thing. My car looks good, why would I want to **** that up?
