i need cats , need to pass smog.

i took my car to a check only smog station, and it's a gross polluter or what ever it's called lol. well it looks like the cats are in place, but i took my exhaust off and there gutted out. i went to mazda and they told me all 3 cats are 1800. if any one has replaced the pre cat and the other 2 cats. were did you guys get them at and did they work. i need to pass smog, in order to reg this car. it does not even have a license plate. im not cheap but i don't want to pay 1800 for cats that are not going to be used after a swap. thanks (i live in california) im at work right now , got to get back to sea-doos lol.

Get ONE good main cat and ditch the rest. All you need to pass a sniffer is a ok cat and a airpump. BUT use ONLY a cat MADE for a rotary/ 7.

Bonez high flow main cat $200, cleans up rotary emissions very well.

too bad you didn't realize that foul smell was from no cats, now you have to smog every single year, sucks to be you.

Do a search for GCAP or Gateway Clean Air Program. You could also look under my screen name. I have a thread from a couple years ago about an inexpensive direct replacement.

Will the Bonez (or any cat) work with emissions removed? I enjoy not having an OMP/emissions, but I don't enjoy the smell my car makes.
