2) A K&N conical filter coupled with the HKS intake adapter or its replica sold by hIGGI/REted will be cheaper and a better buy for the money.

Buy a generic cone filter and get an adapter that fits your AFM. They're all the same, and they're all fairly useless unless you also build a cold air box.

I would not recommend the HKS

Use a K&N with adapter or the Apexi. There are no other choices that flow as well or filter as well for long term useage.

and type english, R is not a substitue for are and U is not a subsitute for you. Patois street slang makes you look like you are some dumb kid. So unless you want to be known as a dumb kid, type in English.

I think APC makes a cone filter, if I remember right. I remember seeing cheap knock off filter but do not know the names!! Those filters are noncleaning kind.

HKS AFM Adapter.

Not HKS intake.

K&N Conical filter+Adapter=cone intake for an S4 FC.

....also quit using letters and numbers to replace words, its rather annoying.

I believe there is a thread in the forum where someone did a write-up on using an apex-i intake in an S4, i'll see if I can search for it.

you realize that the apexi system wont work? the adapter that comes with the system is only s5, but the universal with flange can be used with an AFM adapter. i personally would recommend the bonez afm adapter with the funnel shape change from round to square, im not sure if the other brands/which other brands have the same design. the bonez adapter is metal also some brands are plastic..

just my 2 cents.

HKS adapter and the replica sold by hIGGI/REted have the beveling from round to square.

Never seen the bonez.....

I found a nice S4 AFM adapter on ebay for about 7 dollars shipped. It was made out of aluminum and has a nice welded seam for the round part to mount on the flange. After that, I just used a DSM air box that I had laying around and hacked that up.. I'll be going true CAI now that I've got a MegaSquirt and don't need the AFM anymore..

Do i just need the adapter and then a k&n filter, or is there more to it...im trying to stay away from to much customization for the reason i do not wanna deal with air leaks.??

The HKS adapter bolts onto your AFM with the stock 10mm(x4) bolts. The K&N filter should slip over it and you need to tighten the clamp on the K&N filter. Should take around 30 minutes if you still have your stock stuff on. Otherwise you will only take around 10 min.

That's what I used (the ebay link)...

Um..

I didn't really think about what would happen with a stock airpump

But I'd just JB weld a bung onto the plate you connect the filter to, and put the hose on there, as long as it's getting filtered air, everything is cool.
