I know this has been covered...Removing CATS...

Okay, 87 N/A 13B...I want to remove my Cats...I don't have to worry about emissions...I love loud cars and f*** my neighbors!!! Anyway, I read somewhere on here about tieing the ports open...I think I need to do that anyway...I get this weird sputter while accelerating...it turned out not to be the 3800RPM hesitation...it is a TPS or AFM issue. But I heard it could be the exhaust ports...So, what is the best way to do it?!?! I really need to know soon!

To do what remove your cat or wire your ports open? Sorry dude but your post is pretty hard to understand.

First off before you do anything make sure you get your car running well before you go removing things off the engine. Start with a good tune up and so forth.
If you dont have to worry about emissions then remove your cat, acv, and airpump. Those are all tied to the emissions control system. Doing this can only add power by removing restrictive parts from your engine. Also consider getting headers and a nice open exaust to add to the power. The other things you could do to add more hp would be to remove the a/c and ps systems. Do all that and youll be having lots of fun.

Just make sure to wire the ports open, if you need help with this do a search and youll find lots of info.

Okay, I have the Power Steering removed...I have the AC removed...I have the Air Pump removed and the Port Air Solenoid Valve is coming off, I disconnected it from the computer wire harness...I am about to replace my TPS and then I would like to start on the exhaust. I will find the info on the ports, BUT, should I just buy a header and piping to get the exhaust flowing?! Last night I went and picked up an adapter plate and a cone filter... So the intake is a little more free to enter.

Why would you wire your auxillary ports open? Unless your car is severely modified and running in the upper RPM range constantly, this can only serve to kill low-end power. By wiring them open, you are dumping more fuel then is required which actually reduces your low-end power. There are many fixes for getting your auxillary ports to open after you have removed the ACV, cats, and air pump. Do a search for "electronic 6 ports" or something similar to that.

sorry to but in your thread white 87 13b but when i removed my 3 cats on my 89 i replaced it with a pacesetter header and i havent removed any emissions things off the car its all still there but the whole exhaust system would turn cherry red and the interior carpet would start to smoke. Also the car sounded so freaking loud like a crashing airplane but my main question is why the exhaust turned red like that?

Probably because the Pacesetter header is not of the best build quality to begin with. It also might be because your exhaust temperatures are higher than what a rotary should be running. Whether it is running extremely rich or lean to cause those higher temperatures, I cannot remember.

A Rich Mixture should cause a hotter temp...I believe...Yeah, that should be it...Um, yeah, pacesetter is not that great...Okay...So I don't need to worry about the exhaust ports...Alright. Certain things are starting to come together...

White 87 13B actually i believe its opposite.. All that extra fuel is just helping the engine cool. A lean mixture will actually cause the engine to run hotter.

rich mixture would only cause exhaust problems if you have your cats on, it would destroy thme, they would clog, and you would have a fuel filled peace of steel, with a temp high enough to start a fire....
