I jus got my first rx7
alright im new here, but i have read and read, and i really have loved fc's even with there problems, well i looked around and i found this vert, which is now mine. stock as a rock, clean title, clean body, passed smog with no problems, few problems though, it has 160k on the motor, now i know ofthe horrible stories and well all the rumors that my car will jst explode cuz its a rotary, lol, but i have all the maintanence records dating back to the first owner, oil changes and tire rotations every three thousand miles, and i drove the car home which is a three hour drive, no ovr heating, no problems, ran smooth and fine. theres no oil leaks, the gas mileage isnt super bad its a n/a getting 20 mpg. 5 speed so i can keep the rpms down which helps, few other little problems are the left blinker doesnt work, not sure what the deal is with that, the stock leather seats are worn, paint is chipping, original paint btw. the guy i bought it from had it for 7 years and he wsas older so i know the car has had proper caring. not sure if im missing anything really, car is a 89 came with the sweet an sexy bbs rims, good tires toyo with decent even tread on them.
any advice or comments are welcome

Clean car, i had a 89 red vert. But a buddy totaled it so it went to the junkyard, miss it but i have had my 86 coupe for 4 years now and i love it. Just keep it maintained and it will love you.

Welcome. Get the FSM for the car (see sig. hint hint). You'll see lots of problems, just because this is the forum to bring them up, but overall these are excellent cars. As said, keep in mind the age of these cars.
BTW, don't lug the engine trying to save fuel (i.e. too much gas, lower RPM, too high a gear). A little reving is fine once in a while and cleans up carbon. Enjoy.

Sup man! Welcome to the site and congrats on the buy! Looks pretty good for its age.
If your turning lights don't work, it could be as simple as a blown light. Change it, and if it doens't work then it could be a wiring problem or something.

yeah i think the light is jus the switch though, so i gotta get that fixed, the paint will be fixed when i get time and money to paint it woot woot. lol
couple of things i want to ask, not exactly search quality but noobieness in all
okay one, when i start to accelerate or start going faster, my sterring wheel tightens up alot, kinda annoying cuz all of asudden its like reallly touchy, jus wondering whats with that.
and second my clutch i think is original which would explain the play in the gears, seriously i can put it in gear an wiggle it like its in neutral lol kinda annoying when i stop i cant tell an sometimes kill it, o i was thinking new clutch, stage 1 or 2? what brand or make would be cheapest an best, any like fashion trend with the clutches going on? or any make people prefer. also i will get a new flywheel. i already bookmarked the stick for the clutch change an stuff.
any advice on brands or what tey prefer for the a new an better clutch/ flywheel would be awesome.
and also before i forget, on my front bumper, i gotta a itty bitty about one or so inch lip, i was wondering if that was jus stoock on all verts, so kid said he never seen one with that, and i highly doubt its after market, im guessing stock?
btw if any of you happened to wonder, i paid 1500$ for the car, i think was a decent price,

As mentioned above, the play in your shifter is not from your clutch. It is from worn shifter bushings which you can replace yourself if you're handy. There have been a million posts on this subject, which you can easily find if you search "replace shifter bushings."
The small black plastic front lip on your 'Vert came standard on all S5 (89-91) cars that did not have the larger TII-style chin spoiler. Nothing special, but it's nice that the previous owners didn't scrape yours off on a curb someplace.
Welcome. Enjoy your 7 and treat it well. Carefully read all the FAQs at the top of the page; they're loaded with invaluable information.

What you feel in the steering wheel is probably the variable assist power steering changing the assist so you can feel the roa more. May be working fine, unless it changes it erratically.
+1 Not your clutch, worn shifter ball bushings. It'll feel like new once you change them. These cars have excellent shift feel.
