What can I say, it was a mildly entertaining film, and the sounds were great (even if not accurate)

i see that the last page was completly off topic...so no one has any creative ideas? they say there is no replacment for displacement, so slap two n/a 13b's together at the flywheel/e-shaft pully. double up the engine harness when it comes out of the fire wall, double up the harness for the coils, and run dual alt. this is pure theory coming out of my mouth i havnet done any of it but it seems like it could happen just you would have to do some custom engine mounting and posibly dual radiators (top and front). but (146x2)+basic mods=300hp. but theres prolly somthing i didnt think about and will get trashed about it later, o well XD.

With my new turbo and supporting mods, I am making around 350 at the wheels now, and from a dig I would still have a run from a corvette with a good driver because rotaries are difficult to launch (lack of low end torque, combined with a car not set up for drag). Of course, from a roll I would eat one up pretty well.

Everyone (including myself) in this thread has excersized great restraint instead of flaming you, but making these statements and even asking these sorts of questions puts you in a very bad light and will eventually get you involved in a flame war.

You bought a 16 second stock 15 year old car and want to make it run with a 12 second 10 year old car.
Well put. I was thinking the same thing.

And to the original poster, trying to pull this off regardless of how many knowledgeable people have just told you to drop it does not make you look very...umm...astute. Doing stuff like this, is what makes people that drive cars like ours become known as RICERS dude.
Why dont you just build the car up for yourself and enjoy it for what it is. The guy sounds like a total asshat *****. Dont encourage him. Why dont you put a suspension on it and invite the guy for a jaunt down some curvy roads and a look at the ole tail lights? Unless he can drive the car like its meant to be driven. Like everyone else has said, he is not gonna give you that car.

hell yeah dude any body can drive in a straight line. what would be more embarassing is beating him with the stock car, ive done with an 80 hp ae86 vs a 200 hp acura. now that is HUGE fun

Yes there is, but why would you want to close such a fun thread? LOL. This should be moved to the Lounge where the real fun would begin. I think you have had one of the roughest intro's to the forums. You will find that if you start asking questions without clearly knowing ( or search alot about) what you are refering to or if it is even possible, this is the reaction you will get. I think it has happened to most of us. Anyway welcome to the forum. Most of us mean well. If you really want to end this thread, click the "Go Advanced" button and scroll down to the "Additional Options" Box. In that box will be a tab that should let you close the thread. Thank you and good night.

FC3sBoosted:

Understeer is just a matter of suspension tuning (from what I've seen). If thats the only advantage N/A has over turbo, I think I'll stick w/ my original opinion. I agree w/ everything else in your post.
Sure its a step back in power, but is a much smaller step back in power than it is a step forward in braking and cornering. Which would you rather have, a somewhat powerful brick or a balanced performance car?

Sure a T2 can be had for under $4000...but its heavier so a nice N/A will handle that little bit better.

It's "easy" to "hide" a NOS set-up in the car.
This would be the easiest and cheapest option versus almost anything that was given so far.

Got no hope of having a 300hp NA. Unless you spend some serious money you are only looking to get 250

I'm aiming for about 220hp from my NA.

4x1000cc injectors
Large fuel pump and pressure regulator
Extended port rebuild
Gilmer drive pulley system
Extractors
CAI
Good quality ECU and tune
New springs and shocks
Strut bar
18" wheels

:P

Don't know why you're going this route, but it's overkill...

Here's what I would do: Get a convertible and forget that you thought about racing a Corvette. That way, you can drive an NA that weighs alot so that if you feel slow, it's because you are driving a heavier FC and then at some point..if you wanted to turbo your vert..you can tell half of the people who might be talking **** to you and calling you names..to STFU...

Also...it's threads like this that may me irritated. People who want help doing something don't need other people being dicks to accomplish that feat or not. If the kid can't get 300RWHP out of his NA, thats fine by me. But questioning the intelligence and intergrity of someone you don't know for **** is stupid. And if someone ever...EVER called me a ricer or refered to me as such after I bought a seven...I'm punching that person in the mouth. That's low-blowing, stupid bulljive!

Just thought I'd add my two sense..now if you will excuse me..I'm getting ready to race my NA RX7 and beat a C5 Grand Sport.........on Gran Turismo 4.

So we are wrong minded for telling a younger less experienced person the reality of his situation (one he got himself into, albiet innocuous banter likely)? Even if some are playfully ribbing the guy for it (i have not read one hateful or nasty response)?

Yet random, hair trigger, unprovoked violence is okay?

How about not careing what others think, if you enjoy your car.

I certainly couldnt give two ***** what ANYONE says about my car good or bad, i love my FC.
