i hear thumping

i hear thumping

i have an 87 base 5 speed. im having a big problem. it started about 2 days ago everytime i shift fast or moderatley fast i hear a thump in my rear wheels/ also this happens when i downshift or jerk the car/ i keep hearing a thump i have no power loss. i was wondering what it could be. my tires are fine and the tread is good. its just pissing me off. please dont tell me its the tranny.

i wanna say rear wheel bearing.. but.. it think you need to describe it more in depth.

A thought to entertain is that it also might be your differential mount. It might be broken. Do a search for this and you will get a load of threads about the symptoms and remedies.

I also have that problem..but it more like a bang and it's only when I accelerate hard while turning...usually from the outside rear tire area.
