I have Options, now I need Opinions...
Well, the engine in my 88N/A is going south...WAY south. 'Corse what do you expect from the org engine with 180+K on it. So here are my options.
1. Pull the engine and rebuild it.
2. Keep the engine in the car, drive it till it blows while rebuilding another.
Or
3. Sell for parts and save up for a TII <--Don't know if I like this one.
Everyone on here knows more about the best route to go than me. And I'm sure many know the little tricks and tips on rebuilding an engine. If I rebuild a different engine I'm thinking of doing a MILD streetport. Mild due to the ****-ant Emissions crap. Thank you PRC (Peoples Republic of Cali) for screwing up all our fun here in NV!!! So any opinions, advice, flames or just plain calling me an idiot is welcomed.
RETed: Do you know what happend to Dale T. from Sac? Used to be on the teamFC3S mailing list before they moved servers and I lost track.

I would say drive her easy until you finish rebuilding another engine and then see what you can salvage from your own engine. I don't really beleive in the TII swap since most beleive it is not worth the time and trouble. I would and plan on doing what I have recommended to you. My car has 152k miles on the engine but still seems great(knocks on wood)

If you've got another vehicle to drive, I'd pull it now and rebuild it or have it rebuilt. This way, you don't lose a housing and quite possibly a rotor when the seal blows.

Understandable. I drive a 92 Probe(that looks like it got sucked up in a tornado and thrown a few miles)when my 7 is out of commission. But it gets me around from A-B and back to A. Having an RX-7 usually requires a standby vehicle so you can get around when the mods take more than a day to complete.

You can always drive your NA till it dies, in the mean time buy a microtech and a jspec motor. You can use the entire NA drivetrain. I havent done it personally, but kevin says it will hold up as long as you get a race clutch (weakest link).

Rebuild it now
leave you stranded on the side of the road...bum rides from people until you get it back.
He's on the new fc3s_org mailing list - it's a YahooGroup list, so either go through Yahoo Groups or through the fc3s.org site...

Selling it would be an idea...But too much sentimental value. Car being free and all.
Just went and finished putting in new oil filter neck O-rings and a new battery and she fired right up. Lots of smoke from sitting for so long, but other than that idles like a rock.
So I'm still leaning towards the whole Junkyard rebuild so I'm not out my 7 for too long. Plus, I can always go get housing and stuff like that from the yard.
