I have money, how to spend?

Well, I don't have the money now, but I am making a ton of money, and have nothing to spend it on seeing as I am working in the middle of hell. So, I will have around $14K to spend by the end of august, and can't really figure out how to spend it.

- I can modify my already existing TII with a new motor, turbo, 6 speed, FMIC, extra nitrous, Haltech, adjustable coilovers, differential, the works. EVERYTHING done to it.

- I can keep my TII and buy an FD, keep the FD stock until I can afford to modify it. TII as daily driver.

- Sell the TII, buy an FD, and modify the FD.

- buy that Hemi 'Cuda my grandpa has and can't drive.

- Other (suggestions)

hmmm. now that's a hard one i'd go with hemi cuda much better apreciation. but you can always buy that later considering it's grandpa's. having said that i'd deffinately go with the fd then save up for mods on the fd while using the fc as a daily driver. or and you forgot this one buy junked fb or fc and put 20b in it. you have about the right amount of money and that's assuming you have to have a daily driver(most of us do).

good luck with what ever you do

I never considered a 20B... hmm... maybe... slide that into a blown S5 NA with a six speed and a TII rear end? 20B's are getting harder to find...

LoL, i was thinking the same thing. jk, on a serious note, i would say get that Hemi Cuda, its by far more rare than anything and will be worth hella more than all of the above someday. I wouldnt suggest selling that S5 TII, they are pretty rare too and you seem to have a really nice set-up on there. FDs are nice, but nothing much more than a pretty body on what you already have. On second thought, i dont know if we can trust you with a Classic like that Cuda Elephant car, LoL.

Yo,

Keep the TII and mod the hell out of it. 14K would be gobbled up by an FD without an eyeblink. Those things eat cash like nobody's business.

Might as well make a badass TII, easier on the wallet and will be faster.

My 2 bits.

So I wind up with a stripped car, no boost or nitrous, only ported... Great. A 13.5 second car. What the hell do I do with it?
If I go with a 2nd gen, it will have boost AND nitrous, and a full interior. What is the point of driving a stripped car when you can have a faster car and a pleasant driving environment?

I'm not building a race car, and if I was, I wouldn't start with an NA RX-7.

What is your problem with Nitrous Oxide anyway? Tell me another way to get more than 200 rwhp and still have a streetable ride with an NA (no bridge or PP)...

I know what you mean. Here's the only issue with it:
It is COMPLETELY stock, and has fairly low mileage. Thus:
- I couldn't modify it at ALL.
- I couldn't drive it, other than an annual summer sunday cruise
- I am not really at a time in my life when I can afford a car to sit in my garage under a car cover.

C'mon, we all know that it is too rare and too special to be a daily driver. It is a sweet car, and my grandpa won't sell it to anyone but a family member... but how practical is it for a 20 year old speed demon?

Where are you gonna get the 6 speed from? Cause I would love to do that to my car.

Do NOT ask this.

I am going completely custom, and getting the tranny after I engine dyno my engine so that I can select gear ratios for my specific power band.
I expect costs of around $4500 to finish it ($7000 CDN).

If you want, I can look into making an adapter kit so that you can use a chevy 6 speed, for a cost of around $800 Cdn. However, the problem with this would be the different gear ratios. Acceleration would decrease in 1st and second. Is it worth it simply for the coolness of having an extra overdrive? Only benefit would be better fuel economy on the highway, and, if you have the power, a higher top speed.
(sidenote: I haven't decided if my six speed will be two overdrives or one. IE: Richmond versus BW)

I am looking at around 500 rwhp, and then the addition of nitrous. Basically, a street driven race motor.

Unless, of course I go with the 3 rotor. Then, no less than 800 horsepower.

Depends on how much you think you'd miss your TII. Personally, I would sell the TII, buy an FD with a bad motor/turbos for cheap, and work from there (if you have a beater that is). But if you've invested a lot of time and money in the TII and that's where your heart is, then keep the TII and just invest the money.

Save up for a 911 Turbo.

Thing is, its not going anywhere anytime fast. he just offered it to me now that he can't see well enough to drive.

I know it will stay in the family, and will probably wind up going to someone in his will. Knowing him, the biggest car buff in the family... which would be me.

I would love to have it now, and drive it, which is why I suggested it, but in all honesty, I have too much respect for how rare it is and its condition to actually drive it.
