I hate to do it, but.....

I think I'm going to sell my cars. I have 2 S5 verts. I didn't put this in the for sale section because theyre not, yet. I am just trying to figure aout how much I could get for them and then decide if I want to sell.

Here's the 411

1991 Dark Blue vert
good engine
automatic tranny
no carpet
almost brand new tires

1990 Black Vert
streetported N/A motor
custom ported throttle body
custom exhaust, no cats
disabled p/s but i can put it back on easily.
locked up for some reason(might not even be engine)
all i did was take out and put back in the tranny, then drove about 5 miles and it locked, dunno why yet.
Corksport Overfenders, on and painted
has full interior
reclineable racing seats
custom speaker install in rear deck
custom uhpolstery on door

both have good bodies and full drivetrain,
I have a new top, still in the box that will go with the cars
i will not include the CD player, but I will include the door and rear speakers(infinity)
Whatever parts that I have removed from either car will be included.

How much do you think I can get for both of them together? As much as I love the cars, I can't afford them anymore (insurance and repairs). I just need somethin more reliable.

Well since the '90 vert doesn't run at present time (I understand that it might be an easy fix but a potential buyer doesn't know what he/she might be getting into with a problem car), that lowers the value. Is the 91 in complete running condition? How rare verts are in your part of the country? How many miles are on the cars? I would pay $4000 for the 91 vert, and $3000 for the 90 just because of the locked up thing. If it ran fine, I would give you $5000 for it. But then again Im in the market for a TII and I don't have all that money. Good luck selling them!

at that they'd be gone in a half a second. And for rarity, hahahaha, there's only like 5 verts of any year registered in the whole state. And those are two of them.

those prices are accurate from what I've seen. 3,000 might actually be a little high for a car that doesn't run. No buyer is going to blindly trust a seller, no matter who it is.

HAHA, I can understand that. I can tell you whats goin on with it, and let you come to conclusions, I was goin for a test drive cause I just fixed the tranny. I had driven about 6 miles and had already taken it to 80 in the curvies twice, I had to slow down cause someone was turning, when I was about to shift it just quit. like just stopped running, no slow down just an abrupt lock, I don't know if it was the tranny or what but the clutch was in, now when you turn the key it hakes a thunk sound and won't turn over at all.

so it may be worth even less. If it was the transmission then it could be some serious labor and cash. Again, it could be some silly $3 problem, but the buyer won't know that until its already in their driveway and that will significantly lower the value.

If you were to part out a car I'd be interested in that street ported motor or simply interested in your other motor connected to the auto =)

Everyone above has the value close if not a bit high. Verts not running with nice body's fetch about 1500-2500, thats it. The mods that you have done restrict you to many buyers - no cats = failed inspection which rules out almost every major market.

Well if they are THAT rare in his state, then I guess my values are pretty good. You should really fix the vert that is messed up and install emmisions equipment on it. That way you open it up to a lot more buyers, and if you take a weekend to fix the problem, it can get you ~$2000! Good luck!
