the seatbelt issue is a recall.... just take it to your local mazda dealer... and they have to fix it.. totally free! if they try to give you trouble (which seems to happen), then call corperate, and they will set the dealer staright (that always happens)

the turn signals... have you tried replacing the bulbs? is it clicking really fast when they are turned on..if so, you have a bad bulb, or 2

and the idle issue.. have you tried adjusting your idle adjust screw? its right on top of the throttle body... just turn it until the idle lowers...

i replaced the bulbs but it doesnt work, the other day i was cleanin out my car and then i hit the signal switch and it worked! its really weird but the same day it stopped workin im confused. its not workin anymore

the idle issue, i have been playin wit that thing for a month now.
whenever i screw it a bit loose the RPM stays at about 700 which i believe is good
but the car stars hesitating! and sometimes it just DIES! so i cant take any
chances because i drive to work in my baby every day!

and how come i get 10 MPG what do you guys get???

well, sounds like a vacuum leak.... very common amongst fc's .... just go to your local auto parts store and buy some carb cleaner... 2-3 bottle should be plenty... turn the car on.. try to get it to idle at 7-800rpm and start spraying the engine w/ the carb cleaner... focus on all the vacuum lines, if the idle jumps at any given point... take note of where you were spraying and do it again, if it jumps again..vacuum leak found!

10 mpg?? have you done any maintenance? spark plugs, wires, fuel filter, air filter, etc? are your 5th and 6th port actuators hooked up?

and the turn signal issue.. if you hit the dash and they worked, but then stopped working again.. then you have a bad signal switch... just go to a junkyard (or ebay, or the for sale section) and get another one... should work then

If they give you **** - give them this number:

NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER:
96V173000

Its the National Highway Traffic and Saftey Act number. The recall is for the lifetime of the vehicle.

I dont know how the dealerships work up in Minnesota, but they tried to give me the runaround on my MX3 which had similar issues, telling me there never was a recall, then that the recall expired, till I finally took the recall notice in with me. Then the great run around started with the managers.

dont trust the stock fuel guage...they can read completely different things....the best way to find out your exact MPG is to fill up then reset your trip on the odometer....when your reserve light comes on check your tank and see how low it is....if it is correct then you should replace the fuel filter and basically do a complete tune up.

Do the idle adjustment procedure in proper order.
1) Adjust the TPS by whatever method you use; if you can't get proper TPS settings, the damn thing might need replacing
2) Once you've got the TPS set, ground (or short) the initial set connector and adjust the idle using the screw on top of the Throttle Body to 700-800 rpm.
3) If you can't get good idle, you probably have a vacuum leak. Lots of places for this to occur. Check vacuum hoses and their fit over the nipple. Heat and time play hell with vacuum hoses. Don't forget the seal between the TB and the UIM, and the UIM and LIM. Gaskets can spring leaks over time.

When that happens, call corporate and corporate berates the locals and then the locals lick your boots.
