Looks good from here. No chrome flaking. As long as the grooves in it aren't too big (can't say from pictures, thats up to you) I'd say use em.

Edit: I see the small flake spots. I don't think its enough to trash them. I've built an engine with worse flaking.

Well, that's up to you. I can't tell how deep it is. The apex seal will basically have to match up to the housing before it seals best. Thats why the break in period will be longer since your not using new housings.
BTW there is a BIG difference in low end torque with new rotor housings.

I'd say use them. The housings I took off my 87 base were far worse than those and the engine had 3x90psi compression on both. It still embarassed the ricers whenever we mixed it up on the street . . . and the engine ran like a champ. I even got ~27mpg on the freeway back from Portland with it right after buying it.

I'd say use them, Those look quite similar to my housings im using right now. I sent some pics of my housings to hypntyz7 a while ago and he said they were good for at least 110 psi.

You should get a imagestation account for hosting, that way you dont have problems and can just link to the picutres . I would say those housings are useable

I'd always use new housings in a rebuild, unless they had less than 20k on them and/or were TOTALLY perfect with no gouges/whatever.

But hey, if you are just looking for an engine to last you a while.. those housings look decent.

Run your fingernail across the the housing. If your nail gets caught in any grooves, then the housing isnt very good. If your nail doesnt get caught on anything, you're good to go

u can only feel it with like ur finger but is not a scratch is just like a tiny lil grove, i thinkis from the heat, but yeah my car is an N/A by the way guys u think the engine will last me a while with the proper break in period? base on some of ur experinces? i saw a thread and i was surprised to see that some rebuilds have only last 20k, and less.. any one has a greater milage based on housings that look like mine or are similar to 155k on them?

That motor should last a good 50K if not more. Your break in period will be about 1500-2000 miles and shoudl be fine after that. good luck champ

i swear NAs last over 100,000 if you take good care of them.(changing oil 2500miles,changeing coolent, etc)
i heard of a guy where his engine lasted 200,000miles

you guys are just hoping for 50k? if you get new apex seals and all new seals and hoses, and take good care of it, it should last at leat 100k, theres no way it wont.

my car i bought from a guy who didnt know **** about taking care of the engine, and it lasted 115k.
