No, it went just as I said. I built my first engine in my basement with a copy of the FSM. There was NO ONE to go to locally for rx7 stuff when I started...so I had to self educate, and become that person. I got my first FC at 21, 2 years after I first attempted any major mechanical work myself, by which time I had a mild amount of mechanical experience, and knowledge from reading various manuals and "how to build XXX engine/turbo setup/whatever" books and articles. Within 6 months I was parting out cars and people started bringing theirs to me to fix when the word got out that I had more than one running rx7 that I had fixed myself. By 23 I had a full time business. I am now 30.

Dude, searching can easily help you...I can't even remember how many threads there are about flooding.

I'm a little late but like you already said your low compression is the problem, unburnt fuel sneaks past worn seals flooding the motor out. As far as owning a 7, if you really want to don't let others discourage you...its really not that hard to learn the basics about routine maintenance and advanced stuff like rebuilding engines or transmissions, or swapping out parts..Really I've been in the garage learning stuff constantly since I was 13. What I did was I took advantage of the high school courses available here, I took Auto for 2 years, Auto Body for 2 years and Small Engines for a semester. The stuff I learned in those courses helped me greatly, and now I am learning new stuff every day because I work for a licensed mechanic who also owned Mazda shops and has 25 years of rotary experience.

ok so i got my car and my money back, because that stupid mechanic couldn't really do anything to my car... so i fixed the bushing on my shifter so its a but more firm, but still has play while its in gear but ok w/e I'll worry about that later...

i changed the plugs, and my car almost started, it cranked and turned over longer than before...

im still waiting for my ignition wires because they don't carry them anywhere!!! i went in town, out of town and finally decided to order them from an auto parts store my friend works at... so i should have them tomorrow...

i think my car is also flooding really BAD...i still have those weber carbs i had bought from my friend because apparently everybody in town with an fc wanted them. i wonder if i install those i wouldnt have to deal with those weak injectors...

The best thing you can do is sell the carbs and use the money to fund the proper rebuild.

ok so i need a rebuild, its odd though, the engine seems fine, it cranks and cranks, it turns over so it feels like theres something else thats wrong with it...not an engine issue...but i mean if you guys are telling me i need a rebuild... then i guess i do...could it be that i just have shitty old clogged injectors?

We've said it like 5 times through this thread YOU NEED A REBUILD. It doesn't matter if you get your car running. You're still running below compression standards and it will blow before too long. If you do it now you will save yourself time and money. Trust me I went through the same with my s4 listen to us and go get a rebuild or order a brand new engine they're fairly cheap.

Find a local mechanic that knows how to work on them or shop around and get quotes see what's cheapest and who's most honest. You're biggest challenge is gonna be finding a mechanic that will work on them. They are few and far between. But just call around and get quotes. And if worst comes to worst egt a cheap car to get you around order a Haynes/Chilton manual and rip into it. Its the quickest way to learn.

Make sure you clean it also or dirt turns to rust. Good luck man! Don't let them discourage you from keeping the car. With the proper knowledge and upkeep, rotaries can be just as reliable as pistons. If this is you're baby don't sell it just keep reading up! You'll get it! Don't loose hope!

IT RUNS!!!!

okay, so i took it in to a rotary mechanic in Chatsworth, goes by the name of Robert,

he got it running by taking the gas tank out and unflooding the engine, he said he torched my spark plugs and put them back on, cranked it, and took them out again torched and cranked over again, and finally got it running! i DO need a rebuild tho, but he said it will run like this for a while as long as i don't abuse it.

so it runs nice, no more blue smoke, starts up IMMEDIATELY! ,

the only thing is that a coolant seal is slightly damaged, and i have to put coolant into it before i start it everyday, and the coolant cap is only turned half way, my mechanic said that its supposed to help the engine start up easier.
