not your normal power window switch-button question

my power windows work fine, don't worry. my question is aesthetic... i'm taking my switches apart to paint them. i want to remove the switches you press so that i can just paint the casing. i've removed the wiring and everything... now i'm down to just the switches free-hanging loose in the casing. i don't want to break them messing around or have to cover them with tape to get a good paint on the casing so does anyone know how to remove them?

It should be pretty straight forward. I've got a dismantled one in front of me now. But it's been a while since I took it apart. I believe 2 screws hold the metal clips which hold the switch on the door panel. Those same 2 screws hold the top panel on the switch. Then there are 4 small screws that hold the circuit board in the switch casing. I've been told there is a difference between the S4 and S5 window switch internal mechanisms..but I'm not sure what those differences are.

Yes. I'm beyond the dismantling of those screws.. I had already done that before my post. This is out of my 86 GXL. I'm down to just the casing and the switches (2 for driver, 1 for passenger) hanging loosely in the casing. I'm wondering how to get those switches out of the casing without breaking them. I'm guessing there are pressure points in there somewhere.

Has anyone done this before or have any additional information?
