I found gold!

After being 7less for 3 years (87 GXL RIP) I think I found another FC to adopt! I can't believe it, but I found a 91 white convertible with only 33K on the original engine from the original owner. The only problems I see so far are the antenna wont go all the way down and the speakers in the driver side seat don't work. The black leather seats are worn, as you would expect a 91 to be. I'm going to call Checkpoint Motors in Sac tomorrow to see if I can get it in for a compression test. Wish me luck!

cool.. that's pretty low.. how much is he/she selling it for? And those speakers are cheap to fix.. I did 'em on my '90 TurboII, and I know JACK about car audio.

I'm not doubting anything they said...but just be cautious about an "original" 33k engine if there are wear marks on the seats, pedals, arm-rest ect... that would hint to a car that has been used more than that. Its good that your getting a shop to check the car out too. Hope it all works out for you! good luck.

I bought a 91 about a year ago with 21,000 miles on it orignal owner and all. It lasted 5 months before I lost an apex seal, two to be exact. It is a great buy and would grab it because its mint really just like mine but I would say you might run into a few probs but nothing that cant be fixed with some money. Mine is getting streetported right now so I think its really worth it.
Just wanted to tell you rotorys arent good when sitting!

Goodluck

bling bling bling bling!!!!!!

The vert is SUCH a sweet daily driver. The "instant" throttle responce/torque at lower RPMS & larger sweetspot clutch make it SOOOO much fun. It feels VERY planted on the road and takes curves like they aren't even there. Plus the wind/sun in your hair & speakers in the headrest are sweet combo. The 91 should have the better audio setup than the 88/89. The 91 has rear subs, full range doors, no underdash, headrest amplified.

And (unlike other people say) - she pulls hard in all gears ESPECIALLY once you upgrade to the FULL aftermarket exhaust & intake.
