i dont know what to do about my air pump now that i have dual pulley
i got a dual atl. pulley (not installed yet) but i read this in another forum
"Be aware that if you have a 89+ NA, the airpump also actuates the 5th and 6th port valves, as well as the VDI so you will have to figure out how to make them work."
i have a 89 GTUs so this got me thinking how would i fix this problem..how will i get the air pump to start working? pls help
thanks

By leaving the air pump on..ie don't change too dual alt pully.
You could get away by using a rpm switch with a small electric air pump too open the ports, try searching might find something usefull.

"Since you don't know what you're talking about, I suggest you stop posting."
my car is an n/a
a) i dont have my secondary cat, so i do not need air pump for this.
b) i dont try to race my car below 4000 rpm, and do not drive my car on the street, so i am not concerned with low end power or fuel consumption.
c) the air pump sucks down power, adds weight, and complicates the engine bay.

In case you missed it, the person who asked the question, and hence the person the answers were directed to, has a S5, so your car and how you use it is irrelevant and most of your advice is wrong.

An electric air pump seems pretty pointless when you already have a perfectly functional mechanical one that'll draw about the same amount of power from the engine as an electric one.
