Why does my battery keep dying???? I dont leave anything on yet this is the third one in a little over a month...which is QUITE annoying! What can cause this???

There must be a elctrical drainage (Spelling?), remove the negatvce cable from the battery post, and use a 12V tester light in series between the - battery post and the ground cable. The 12V tester light should be off, if its on, then something is wrong............

If that's the case, let the fun begins

What was the last thing done to the car? (including, gauges, radios, engine mounts, etc)

 

The last thing was probably the gauges, but that was a couple months ago.

 

I guess the charge light really is trying to tell you something.

 

Get your digital multi-meter out and check for current draw.

A stock FC draws under 70mA. If you are drawing more than that you probably have a mis-wired circuit somewhere.

Also remember, that conventional (read non-marine or deep cycle batteries) life is cut in half everytime they are drained under 10 volts. So if you have smoked the battery down a couple of times it may not be taking much of a charge anymore, and more than likely has lost quite a bit of storage capacity.

 

depending on the wattage of the light, some will be always on... no matter what the draw. You are much better off using a digital multi-meter, where you can see what the draw is.

Using a testlight is sort of like using only the idiot light to see if you are out of gas. While a digital multi-meter can be comparied to a gas gauge.

 

One thing I've seen is alternators fail and they drain the battery down when the car is off - I had that problem for a while. If I let the car sit for a day or two, the battery would be dead.

Also, make sure your alternator in general is working well, and your battery terminals are up to snuff.

Ive heard of swapping to an FD alternator...is that benficial in a case like this?
