You need to do a little fabrication. Doesn't look like it's that hard.

You can't mix S4 and S5 transmission crossmembers. S5s use a 4-bolt mounting pattern on the sides of the tail housing, while S4s use a 2-bolt pattern on the bottom. The crossmember also has to match the model of trans (NA vs. TII).

Of course, in the link above, you'll see that you shouldn't need anything but your old auto crossmember. An auto car won't have the bolt-in location for a manual crossmember.

after doing this in a civic we discovered that there were some issues with mounting positions. we had to fab up a new tranny mount. this is usually going to be expected. not really the same thing but it was a tranny swap. **** will have to be made to fit.

Or do it right and cut out the body mounts(for lack of a better word) off the 5spd and wield them on in the correct spot.

thanks for all the info.. I already have the fab parts to Extend from the auto mount point to the mating of the five speed. The problem is i need a s4 crossmember. IF i have the S4 crossmember i can use the Extention bars to use with the five speed...

Hi Guys,

My conversion was actually done well.

Not only did the new S4 Manual cross member get braced to the original auto one, but they also made custom brackets to bolt it to the actual chassis too.

So now my manual cross member is bolted to both the original auto cross member but also to the chassis too.

Here are some photos...
