I destroyed my diff mounts.

Hey guys, anyone know where to get solid diff mounts? This is the second time I have broke the front diff mount, and I wasn't even trying to drag race this time.

Well this time I continued to drive it hard and broke at least one of the rear mounts as well. I was at deals gap driving the **** out of it.

bad rear mounts and bad tranny mounts tend to lead to the front diff mount shearing prematurely as well, so you may wish to replace those if you keep going through new front diff mounts (you are using new right???).

Well Ted..... I don't drift or clutch kicks. Maybe I could drive a bit smoother, but I think it's cause of all that horsepower

diff mount

I know that you broke your subframe and not the front diff mount but, I know where you can get solid front diff mounts from. I had to replace mine, it looked like it melted straight off the plate it was attached to. It was very strange but anyway you can get them off of ebay from a guy that makes them, its about 80 bucks total or you can pay like a 150 bucks for a brand new stock one. He takes a hell of a long time to ship it which just pissed me off since every time I went anywhere I had to feel that bitch shift underneth me.

It wasn't that bad. I got it done in 3 hours. Some things I would recommend that helped me a lot: an impact wrench, a lift, PB blaster, and a friend to help out.

Guess I'll have to do it at the hobby shop...I'm going to have to find out if all 87-88 subframes are the same, that's going to be hard to find down here unless I buy it at the stealership.

Anybody know??
