Just a stage II BNR hybrid. For what we run, reliability is a higher priority than max power.

88GTU, have you found cooling improvements after cutting your bumper?

They make sheetmetal with diamonds cut out to put infront of glass doors so your dog or kid doesn't run through it. I think that, painted black, would look solid from a distance, but it also would effectively reduce the opening by 1/2.

That car kind of looks like it has braces. Pretty bad-***.

Snrub: See what you miss when you're not around? It's all that hanging with the LAC....

Black13B: During hard driving, it is perfectly normal for the temps to rise. On the S5, the guage should be at half. S4s should run about 1/4, maybe a little higher on a very hot day.

I don't think those skinny openings with sharp edges will flow very good. Then if you cover the opening with mesh you not only reduce the effective size but you create turbulence that will reduce flow through the radiator even more. I don't know about this.

Actually we thought the same thing but it turns out that the mesh is not as big a restriction as the intercooler itself. Last year we had no overheating problems with the top mount intercooler. This year with the FMIC we were battling oil temps the entire event. In fact we had so little flow that we were forced to rig a dedicated duct by through a hole in the underbelly pan. Right now I'm working on setting up dual oil coolers in an attempt to bring temps under control. To Mazda's credit the Mazdacomp radiator never let water temps rise much above 190 even with so little flow.

Bomex kits are nice, but too bad their front section doesn't have flash-to-pass lenses.

Besides the no-FTP lenses of the Bomex front... I don't like how steep the front of the bumper is with the lines it has. Also, the front of the Bomex doesn't even look to have as much airflow area as how a cut stock bumper has...

I'm sure cutting the bumper must work. Remember, the ever so famous yellow FEED FC used to utilize the stock bumper with 2 slots cut where I did mine...

I hate the Bomex front. It ruins the lines of the car, I mean look how the side moldings meet the front it looks terrible.
