Five to ten at the wrecking yard. I'd clean thoroughly with alcohol and JBWeld it. Won't leak for a very long time, but I'd still get another. Look here http://www.mazdatrix.com/b8.htm for prices.

Give JB weld a shot, but if it's like mine, the aluminum just is too corroded, and it will leak soon.

I dont' think they're that expensive, even from Mazda. Give any one from a junkyard a careful look at the threads, make sure none are stripped

http://www.mazdatrix.com/getprice.as...m=15-172B-N326 Forty nine big ones if you click on the highlited number when you are on the MAZDATRIZ SITE under the url in my first post. Now MAZDATRIX is starting to make some progress on their site. That feature did not exist last time I was there. But at that price, I'd gut the corrupt area and clean completly and JBWELD it, or go to the junk yard.

Yeah, mazda changed a few things to plastic from 89-91. I am assuming your car falls into those years. JB Weld will still work on the plastic. At least that is the packaging alludes to

This is one of the products I'd like to develop for the 1989-1991 Kouki owners.&nbsp That plastic thermostat housing is a piece of ****! I know of KSP in Japan that offers an aluminum cast unit, and they charge like $150 for it - but it's worth the piece of mind that it'll never break on you...

I'm hoping to get an initial low-unit run initially just to test quality soon.&nbsp Would it be worth $100 to you?&nbsp How much does Mazda charge for a plastic replacement?

When you change that, you might as well change thermostat too. But one word of advice, make sure you get the factory gasket for that

Server busy crap*+<@##.
I'll try this one more time.

I have a '90 TII and just replaced my thermostat housing ($45 - Mazdatrix) and thermostat ($14 - the spring wears out according to my mechanic). If you're replacing the housing, it's advisable to replace the thermostat as well.

Be careful re-installing the bolts to the thermostat cover; especially the rear 2, as it's easy to crossthread them.

I had a hairline 2" crack at the backside of housing so thin I couldn't see light when I took it off and aimed a maglite from the inside. Doesn't take much. Just that was enough to set off my buzzer after about 10 miles.

i JB "rigged"my throttle body shaft holes, so i know your dilemma. i would wait a whole day, or at least what the recommend before even putting the part back on the car and into use.
