I Close to Hate my RX7!!!

^or it hates me, hate love relationship...
Well i still have no clue what is wrong with my rx7 i took it a part about 6 months ago when it didnt want to start well, but would start after a few cranks, Its A 1987Turbo in a 1986 N/A Chassis

It has:
New Hoses
New Gaskets
New Alternator
New Battery
New Exhaust
New ACV
New Fluids as of a week ago
Compression
N/A Fuel Pump
N/A Cluster
N/A Chassis Wiring
N/A Dash Wiring

one concern i have is i bought another used harness for it because the one i had was ****, but this one has a plug for low imp injectors i have high imp injectors is this my problem? also i had to jam the conectors on the fuel injectors because the plastic tab on the outside was center and not offset the injectors are round and red the conectors on the harness are off white.

im going to switch my chassis harness, dash and cluster from the original na to the turbo 2 ones dident do this when i did my na to turbo conversion, the parts are in my garage

if i cant find the problem out soon its just gonna rot in my garage for three years until emissions for it are not needed and i can get enough money for a standalone ECU and Harness...

I know i need to look for Spark, Fuel and Air but i know im not getting spark, and im not sure about fuel i think it is all Harness/Grounds related im just gonna buy a new harness from mazdatrix and hope for the best if any one has an alternative it would be greatly appreciated since the harness is $675...

Thanks,
Sean

Does anything seem to be a little off when you wrote this?

i checked the injector serial numbers and they match the turbo s4 numbers i think im positive its an s4 engine

i also wrote that backwards, the injectors have the off set tab the conectors have the middle slot for a middle tab

Do the turbo intakes differ like the NA's (under the intercooler)?

I already said, the S5 injectors are round at the top (oval actually) s4's are rectangle..

Also if you are using a harness with the resistor block you need to make an adapter (take the resistor box, and cut all the wires, then wire nut them all together)

DRASTIC ERROR ON MY PART

The injectors are square the plugs and clips slots are just diff one is offset and one is center but both the clip and injector are square...

(asian accent) it is like a rectangle witch has many edges and not like a circle which is round

Update: Found this info on rotary ressurections website they are 1988 13BT high square offset 550cc purple 195500-1370, except not purple they are red/maroon did the color fade?

are you sure i should wire nut them together?? that sounds like it could be dangerous!!!

you need to build the adapter.

you have to build an adapter if yours is not the correct harness..

It is probably super flooded... Change your oil and take out the plugs.

Dude.. Your injectors were running wide open the whole time your key was in the on position... Smell your oil, I bet it smells like gas.

to clear this up the motor is an 88
your 86 has low impedance injectors, the 88 switched to high impedance both are square plugs.
the 86-87 harness has resistors in it to make it work as the ecu sends a high impedance signal.
if your harness is an 86 or 87 you need to find the stock resistors and cut them out.
better option? use the correct injectors. the motor will run like **** and on a t2 fuel is not the thing to **** with

in conclusion

-if the ecu is 86-87 you need 86-87 injectors and harness if 88 you need 88 stuff.

-If your ecu and injectors are 88 and the harness is 86-87 get a new ecu and injectors for the 86-87 or change harness.

-if the ecu and injectors are 86-87 and the harness is 88 use 88 injectors and leave your old ecu and it'll work too.

follow?

The ecu is inconcequencial.....

I already answered your questions.. Waste money on more parts if you want, but you could get it to run on what you have..

But whatever.. no disrepect to anyone but this isn't my first rodeo, I have done this same thing several times...

Good luck.

No problems man.. it is always rough when stuff wont run.. I let a car sit for 6months over the wrong IMP injectors once...

You need a T2 fuel pump for sure.. You also need to check the operation of the pump..
