Thumbs down I cant pass inspection!

I brought my turbo2 to the station for a inspection and the guy i know there usually get me by someway somehow, but now that they have the new camera, they can do anything for me anymore.
do i really have to get a new cat?
once i put my new catback on i was going to throw in a straight pipe, but now i have to get a $300+ replacement cat?
if there anything i can do before i go to get it done that would reduce anything in the emissions??
this is bad i cant park my car on the street right now because of this.

anyone?
and anyone in NY know anyone that can help me out here?

thanks

Man that SUcks!!!!

If I were you just get a new Cat and be done with it....
Dynomax makes Hi-Performance ones and so does a company called Random Technologies....
I live in California and we have tough-*** regulations here too....
I haven't had to deal with the emissions nightmare yet because my 10th AE is down for an overhaul....
I was told that for the car to pass, "All of the emissions equipment must be on the car..." I.E. mufflers, large cat, egr valve, acv and charcoal cannister....
I'm not sure how I'm going to accomplish getting my 400+ rwHp Fc registered yet but I will get to that bridge when I'm done....

Would it be any help if I gave you a stock 87 cat?
(I hope my cousin still has it...I gave it to him to try and pass emissions.)

I could get the cat here from NJ the end of this week, and I could have it Queens the beginning of next week. I'll see if my cousin still has it and get back to you.

If you don't hear from me soon, email me at ed77@twcny.rr.com

I'm not sure where that is...I live in Syracuse, but my sister lives down in New Hyde Park. She'll be up here this weekend, so if I can get it by then, I'll send it down with her and something can be arranged from there.

Hey

I hear that you can buy on of those snap on shell cats. Basically its a dummy shell which looks like a cat, and it just pops around your exhaust. Look into it, but I am not certain about how good they look. SUX TO BE YOU! CT got rid of their Vehicle Safety Inspections last year.

In NYC, you have to get an emissions test done, so the cat-looking object wouldn't help. Upstate it would, though.

move to fl.

we are straight as f**k down here in miami, no emissions inspection or test. full (illegal) racing exhaust, ZOOM-ZOOM.

i feel for you man. freakin cats rob your power. get a performance cat dude! or just switch back and forth whenever you have to take the car for inspection.

Yup thats true. They just do it in the city or what? Before Hillsborough County got rid of emmissions testing we would just go to another county and get the vehicle registered there. So is it a county by county thing, or is it just in NYC or what? Theres always ways around these things. Oh, and is every sticker the same(assuming they give you a sticker) or do they have plate numbers on them or what?
