I can't believe what I was just told

bwahahahaha

this guy actually had the nerve to tell me that his 178,000 mile car was fine because and I quote, "well, rotaries can go for 300-400 thousand before they even begin to show wear!" and when I replied "No they don't." he says "listen buddy, I've been twisting wrenches all my life"

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAA

Well, I have seen NA's that were well cared for go well into the 300,000 range.

I don't doubt a few have made it past 300K without needing to be rebuilt. But all of them going 300-400K before showing any problems? Who's the crack smoker here? Certainly not I.

GLHS has 320,000 miles on his unported original FC N/A motor that he premixes and it pulled a 15.3 in the 1/4 with a shitty launch.......

I am now premixing my 88 GTU N/A per FAF racing standards.

Good luck weedin out the bs on the forum cuz it is damn hard wadin through it.....I would hope that people wouldn't reply to topics that they have no clue about but I guess I am wrong. I have only owned my FC for 2 months now and what I have seen with my own eyes is GLHS's FC tear **** up and run absolutely wonderful with 320k on the odometer....he premixes with 2-stroke oil.....I hope all of you will learn from his victory.

Did he remove the oil injectors/pump/ect? Or does he just add a little premix in the tank for reassurance?

I run both because, because the stock oil injection system works good for the center of the apex seal, but thats about it.

I have seen engines have no wear right where the oil injector injects oil, and yet the side of the seals are worn out, because of no lubrication. Also the premix keeps the temps of the rotors and their faces cooler.

Doing a oil change before or @ 1000 miles really helps alot.

Thanks Capt.. Keep running that premix...

Yeah, that guys an idiot. "before they even begin to show wear" Yeah, its true, they can go to 300K+ milage, but, im sure they are pretty close to needing a rebuild. Rotories, as we all know, usually just go, and dont let you know when, so even though its pulling hard and autoXing "with 256K on it, who is the idiot?!" doesn't mean it'll be that way when he cranks it up in the morning. Don't get me wrong, there are few rotaries that can go up in the milage and run "fine" but not the majority of them, especially "300-400K with out showing signs of wear" my ***, **** that guy. I would tell that guy to kiss my ***.

my friend bought an 85 gsl-se the other day for $100. so he has an 18 year old car where EVERYTHING WORKS, even the ac, with 140k on the original motor.
i had one 3 years ago i took apart (it was made of bondo), the 211k motor literally looked new on the inside.
i have a friend with an 87 turbo 2 he bought new, it has over 200k miles on the original engine, and the turbo has never been off.
