Question I am removing my rats nest this comming weekend. Ihave some ?'s

Ok I am really tired of looking at all that crap under the intake already. What kind/size/length of fuel lines should I get? Do i need to do the TB mod to get it to work? Do I need to remove my cold start/AWS?

I need specific sizes and numbers for the fuel lines cuz I do not know how to order that stuff. I know there is a writeup in here but I don't recall seeing this info on it.

5/16 fuel injection line and about 5 feet will be more than enough. You should also get new vacuum lines

Do a search on removing emissions. That will give you a big start on what you can remove since that's a majority of what you're talking about... There should be quite a few good threads on the subject. (If I had one handy, I'd post it here -- but I'm lazy).

yeah I have links to those threads at home but I need to know the size of fuel line since once I start I would have to walk to the parts store 25 miles away from me so I need to konw what to get before I start. I already have most of the vaccume hoses converted to silicone. Except for the ones on the rats nest ofcourse. I still have some hose left but I might go buy some extra just in case I need it.

You need good quality high pressure 5/16" line (most say around 6 feet). The kind I just bought was braided. I am not sure how much vacuum line you need cause most of that will be gone anyways. Get some 3/16th caps to block off some of the nipples.

Should be putting mine back together this Saturday (4/19) and I will post anything else I can add to these subjects.

Also purchased for my project:new fuel filter, clamps, vacuum spider, oil change kit, new plugs.

My advice to you is to download the EFI chapter of the FSM (if you haven't already) and study the system diagram on page 4A-2 and the vacuum hose diagram on page 4A-5 until you understand what you're removing, rerouting, capping, keeping, etc. Figure out what you need to do before you rip it all off and get stuck on something you didn't know about. This will save you repeated trips here you ask questions and will have your car back on the road quicker.
S4 NA's are pretty easy because about the only thing you need to keep is a vac line from the manifold to the fuel pressure regulator. For this one follow the line from the FPR to the solenoid and then from the solenoid to the manifold, and use that nipple to feed the FPR directly.

I got mine from Import Auto Parts actually but autozone may have something similar. The guy hesitated until he could ask a co worker who has been dealing with rx7's for years, then agreed that the braided stuff is needed.

You only need 4 vacuum caps, 6ft 4mm vac hose, 2ft 6mm vac and 1ft 10mm vac, some new screw clamps and a sheet of 1/8 or 1/4in thick aluminum for block off plates.

ERm. That was for the TII, but the NA should be similar.

Cap the nipples on front of the UIM
4mm line from FPR to bottom nipple on the back of the UIM
4mm line from the nipple at the injectors to the second nipple on the back of the UIM
4mm line from the old CSS vac nipple to the back of the UIM
Cap the 4th nipple on the back of the UIM
4mm from the UIM near the BAC to the pressure sensor
6mm from oil filler neck to the hard line (is not attached to vac spider), then to the TID
6mm vac cap for the other nipple on the oil filler neck
10mm line from brake booster to back of the UIM

hm... thats what I did on my TII. Most if not all should apply to the NA, and then just hook up the 6 port actuator however you have to.
