Hylomar overnight=Engine builder question. Very important info

Can anybody say if I can use the Hylomar tonight and then assemble tomorrow as it is getting late. The directions say to torque immediatly. BUT that could be a selling feature rather than a warning. In other words

You don't have wait until it cures to torque.
vs.
You have to torque within a specific time frame or it will cure too hard.

What do you think??

I'd just wait and put it on tomorrow when you assemble, doesn't take long to put on.

Hylomar cures slightly... it turns gooey but not solid.

Personally I don't think it's a problem... I didn't know I couldn't let RTV Black sit overnight inbetween a housing, untensioned...

I thought it caused a coolant leak, but there was NO coolant leak when I pulled apart the engine... it sealed fine... the problem was... well, you know.

This is me tonight too. The engine is sitting in a cold garage half assembled.

I dont think it will cause ANY issues, as I let the front iron sit last night with the combustion orings hylomared in. Today, I realized the one seal was twisted, pulled it out, and reset it. Seems fine.

will be fine, Hylomar never fully cures, it is only used to help hold seals in place during assembly.
