huh oh

hey what's that UFO looking thing next to where you pour oil under the hood?
There's a hose coming out of it and 2 under it.
anyone know where I can get a new one? I just broke it!!

You mean the oil pressure sending unit? ..ooh wait there's no hose that comes out of that.

I think you mean the VDI "valve opener thingy?" IT uses air pump pressure to open the VDI @ 5.5k.

Are you talking about the OMP spider? how big is it? whats it made out of?

well it's round, and has a hose connecting to the tube where you can put oil.
I'm gonna buy a new one, and then let a mechanic put my intake back!
I'm not touching anything in there anymore!!

it's black, in plastic and about 1.5" of diameter.

Its the purge control valve. Its on page 116 of the Haynes manuel.
