Question Howru's Rebuild Adventure

I blew a coolant seal on my 88 GXL and planning to rebuild it over the next few months. I've watched seen the Atkin's DVD and flipping through the FSM's provided in the FAQ.

I'm trying to avoid buying the rebuild kits and making a list of all the parts I'll need. I'm going by the archive's rebuild part list and the rebuild parts listings from Atkin's and RA and compiled a list and the prices as of today. Are there any recommendations to add or subtract from the list?

I couldn't upload the file as .xls, it is uploaded as a tab delimited file.

Having trouble making heads or tails of your list. I doubt you will need the hard rotor oil rings. You don't need 3mm seals unless you're trying to recover a damaged rotor slot.

I'm about to order rebuild parts too, although for a S4 TII, and I also have been agonizing over which way to go. I think I'm just going to go for the RA basic kit for simplicity's sake. I don't want to have to mess with a bunch of suppliers. I will just piecemeal the external gaskets since I don't need exhaust ones.

Oh I think I also saw bearings on your list and these likely will not need to be replaced either.

Best of luck with it.
Cheers

P.S. Who knows if the basic RA kit comes with tension bolt sealing washers?

Cleaned up the list. I was just grabbing prices and didn't edit it when I posted it. I'm trying to make sure that when I don't purchase too many double of parts, or cut some out if I don't need it. I'm also going after the same idea, Heffboost -- right now I'm trying to put together a shopping list so

Shopping list so far:
Rotary Aviation:
2mm apex seal set w/ springs: $199

Atkins:

installation/rebuild gasket set: $179.95
front seal: $3.95
rear seal: $7.5
corner seal springs: $25.2
solid plugs: $65
oil rings: 39.95
side seals: $95
side seal springs $18.75
pilot bearing and seal: $9.5
thermal plug/pellet: $10.5

Mazdatrix:
oil springs (all together): $21.74

subtotal: $682.11

Thanks for the suggestion for the oil baffle and regulator, adrock. I didn't think of those at first.
