how to tell different compression rotors apart?

Im trying to figure out how I can tell the difference between a 9:4:1 compression rotor and a 9:7:1 compression rotor by a visual inspection. Or if that cant be done, what other way can I determine the difference

Are you refering to the s4 and s5 n/a rotors? If so weigh them. The S5 is ~1/2lb lighter.

I have also noticed on many S5 turbo rotors maching lines on the rotor faces. The s4's did not have these.
