How to take S5 turbo apart

I have tried searching and have found nothing that has been useful to me so far.

I am trying to take the hot side off of my Rx7 turbo. The only thing that is holding the hot side on is a ring of bolts, there are no c clips. It looks like there might be a little rust holding it together. What is the best way to separate the turbo? Should I try penetrating oil and tapping on the hot side with it standing vertical?

take the bolts out and get yourself a rubber mallet and some good penetration oil. you should be good to go.

anywhere, thats why u use a Rubber Mallet.

the point is to create vibrations and start loosen up some stuck parts.

and dont do what i have read on verious pages about using the bolts as a kind of wedge. some guys will tell you to back out all the bolts untill they are touching the center section then start turning them to apply pressure and seperate it that way. DO NOT DO THAT. when the bolts are out as far as they can go start hitting it with the rubber hammer.

Worked great for me. The thing is to just take your time and apply pressure evenly and use the rubber hammer. BE PATIENT it takes time to get it apart.
