how to take off the alt pulley?

I had the same dilemma this weekend, expect with the Power Steering Pulley. Even with the Belt In place, the Pulley would slip. I tried everything. I simply took It to my guy and he zapped It off with an Air Gun. Fini.
From there, I removed my Power Steering. I'd Imagine the Alternator nut, retaining the Pulley onto the Shaft, Is put on with more Torque than that of the Power Steering Pulley.

Back to the topic...ALWAYS disconnect the battery whenever you are working on your car. It sure isn't fun trying to find a short.
