BIG flames:

Put a spark plug 6" from the end of your tips. You'll need to have a bung welded in for this at a muffler shop.

Hook up a coil... any coil will do, and connect it to the spark plug with a spark plug wire. Go browse the junkers...

hook the coil up to a switch to positive (fused), and ground the other end of the coil.

Rev the engine up, let off the gas, and flick the switch.

For bigger flames, rev it up, flick the switch on and off (toggle it), and turn off the ignition.

for MASSIVE flames, put a fooger nozzle into the exhaust around the catalytic convertor area, and then feed off of the fuel rail. Spray fuel, hit your ignition, and watch the 10ft flames out the back...

for more info, just ask.

I have a picture of an FC throwing flames on my desktop right now.

...hell, my convertible would probably throw flames if I would ditch the cat. As it is whenever I shift at high RPM's theres a gunshotlike "POP" and a large puff of smoke.

Its probably not going to shoot flames unless you have a turbo car. Most n/a cars don't run rich enough on throttle drop to shoot flames.

If it backfires then theres a big chance that a flame pops every once in a while. Im sick of it cause you know what the flames mean right..... wasted gas

Ok, I have a quick question for you guys. I have a 86 n/a and I backfire when I punch it. I DO have a highflow cat. My friend says that it is possible to shoot flames with a cat. I read that you can't. Can you straighten us out?

to shoot flames:

get a (make it yourself) spark pug wire kit. run two parallel wires from your trailing plugs to 2 plugs on the end of your exhaust, you should be able to fit 2 wires in each boot. just make sure you have wire kits that have little resistance, this will give you a more powerful spark and shouldn't take away from your trailing plugs.

just have a buddy follow u in their car before u make the conclusion that u are not shooting flames... dont expect to look in rear-view mirror and see big flashes.

Have you ever been driving at night, floored it on a dark road with thick trees on both sides, redlined it, and seen the whole area turn red for about a second as you see red come over top of the rear? lol its great

Also, if you top out 3rd gear on the highway at night while your DRIVERS side is next to a concrete barrier, you'll see the barrier flash red.
