How to run wires to the rear speakers

I got wires ran to the middle of the car for awhile now but never put them to use over the crap stock, how should I run them to the rear?

I don't wanna spend 4+ hours removing **** just to install 2 wires not worth it to me, but if its just as simple as removing the speakers and carpet that'd help bundles.

I don't really want wires to run under the carpet so if anyone knows the easy way to make the wires go better I'm open to suggestions

thanks guys hopefully my new audio install goes good ^_^ pics to come also

just re-wired my car with monster cable ^_^, remove your door sill panels and carefully pry the lower sail panels behind the seat away from the side, they have clips so go slow (to reinstall they just pop back in place with little force. Also pry the kick panels back, just run the speaker wire down there, under the sill panel is a pice of cardboard lookng crap. Under that is where all your wiring is. I'll let you figure out the rest.

Sometimes that's just the cost of doing something for the first time. Later on things like this can often be reduced to 75%-25% time compared to the first try when doing something similar again.

Car wiring ALWAYS takes a long time, but if you know what you're doing it won't take quite as long. I don't think it should take 4 hours though, 2 maybe.

Not even 2 for someone that is a noob, it would even be easier, just look at places that you can hide them, I have had new speaker wire's though a 87 lincoln for a buddy and that took me 30 minutes and that was installing the speakers too.

run your speaker wire to the rear make sure the length of the wire is = for the left and right speakers so they have the same amount delay.

run our speaker wire the the opposite side of the car from your signal wires 'rca' ect.

if your speaker wires cross other wires. cross them at a 90* so the cross like so ' +' this will cut back on interference

monster cable makes good cables but is over priced for the amount of gain in quality.. any good 16ga oxygen free copper speaker wire is all u really need.

you may want to solder the wires at the head unit and speakers... this prevents head aches later cause u dont have to worry about wires coming lose and what is the point in usen good wire when your putn a shity .5 cent crimp connector to link the sytstem together.

u may be able to run the wires under the dash then run them under the scuff panel in the the door jamm then run them behind the rear quater panel to the towers

you'll need 30' spool of monster cable, its about $25, if you do it right you'll have a foot and a half left

Im not looking forward to starting my speaker re wiring. I am running a 4 channel amp for the speakers and I am going to have it located behind the passenger's seat so I will be running wires from it to both doors and both shock towers. I was wondering though about how long of an RCA cable does it take to get from the head unit to behind the seats? I need 3 cables 2 for the 4 channel amp and 1 for the subwoofer amp. All of those will be run down the center console somehow hidden underneath carpet or something (it needs to look clean) Then I need to run the power wires under the drivers door to both amps (going to use storage bin area to hide all the wiring too) I just have no idea how much wire this is gonna take... I assume that 30' of monster cable for the speakers is gonna be perfect but the rest no clue.

nice thread jack..... just get a rope or peice of wire and mock up how u want to run the wires to get a idea of how many feet u want, then a add a foot or 2 to find the length of wire u need (always better to have more then to little)

u said power wires... youll save money and be much better off to run one power wire to a distribution block

good rca wires really do make a big difference....but for power wire ive round most wires are the same. i always by my power wire from wallmart scoche efx 4ga wiring kits you get 24ft of oxygen free wire for about 25bucks much cheaper then monster cable.i keep ranting about oxygen free wires cause. the process of removing oxygen also removes the impurity of iron and it's this impurity that can cause the resistance to be slightly higher. the only thing worth keeping in the kit is the wire and fuse block.

here is a link dealling with wire and the such
