Just got a new starter and planned on replacing because mine kept getting stuck.
I decided to make it into a tutorial to save you all some loot. I hope this helps some of you.


Step 1
Make sure you disconnect your battery first

Step 2
Get the FC on a flat surface and put a jack under.

Step 3
Look under your FC3S and you will see the starter

Step 4
Disconnect the black plug
(used to trip the relay to kick over the starter, comes from your ignition switch)

and also unscrew that bolt

Step 5
Unscrew both these bolts

You should now be able to install your new starter

I ended up making a big mistake when installing the starter because my battery was still connected, and when I was installing it...the wrench hit the other bolt and I saw sparks . So now I don't know if I have a short in something but now my FC won't start. So don't forget to disconnect your battery

well uhhh

yup... been there, except i hapened to be touching the metal. quite the surprise, now I disconnect the battery when i do just about anything under the hood.
