Is this okay? Engine-2-Tranny

Well I removed the engine and transmission from my car, since my pilot bearing went out. After I replaced it, on my attempt to attach the transmission to the engine it slid in pretty far but still left about 1/4-1/8" space. I tried putting them together as far as possible but that was it, then I bolted them and it brought them together. Is this okay? I don't want to install them back into the car and have something go wrong and to redo the entire process.

Are they suppose to slide in together all the way with no problems?

they are often difficult to get together. if after tightening everything down there is no space between the two it should be fine

the transmission is supposed to slide in without to much difficulty. Did you properly align the clutch disc when you reassembled everything?

Yeah, After bolting them together there is no space. The slide in was easy, it was just that last bit of space that I couldn't do.
I did align everything properly since I bought the alignment tool awhile back. I just didn't want to pull the engine/transmission back out because that small bit of space was the cause of another bad pilot bearing.

I always have that problem when putting a trans back in, although the seal for the pilot bearing like to put resistance against anything going in or out(inputshaft or alignment tool) reguardless of how much white lithium I put it.

As long as you're sure the disk is lined up properly Iwouldnt worry about it.

totally missed the 1/8" gap statement. That sounds about normal.

Technically, you are never suppopsed to draw the engine and tranny together with the bolts. However, I have done it, it worked ok. As long as you greased it and werent too rough, it should be ok.

Yes, that should be fine. There are 2 alignment dowels that will hold the trans about that distance off the engine, and sometimes you can't push the trans over the dowels by hand unless they are perfectly clean and free of burrs. Sounds 100% normal to me.
