How to remove headlight switch *****??

I just bought a replacement headlight switch because my 1987 FC was having problems turning off, and I want to take the ***** off of the old headlight switch so I can put it on the new one. I don't want to force them off and break them, so if there is a way I can get them off naturally, that would be greatly appreciated.

As j9fd3s says you just pull. There's no secret to it.

Just make sure you are pulling them straight out and not side-to-side. Otherwise you could break the shaft on the plastic *****.
