Believe it or not, I have 3 moonroofs.... Two are GLASS and made by Pacific T-top Inc. inHuntington Beach CA, and the other is a Plastic (or plexiglass) made by Saratoga Tops. Pacific T-tops went out of business years ago. They DO have four holes for mounting. The Saratoga moonroof has NO holes (is still in the box, and has NEVER been installed). I believe Saratoga may still do some business, but pretty sure not for RX7's. I've done some research on this about two years ago, and there is really no longer any direct replacement moonroofs made for the RX7.
All of these ARE direct replacements. You simply unscrew your metal top (6 screws), and screw it in. Very simple. I am waiting to re-paint my BLK '90 Gtu to install... mmm, one of them. I know, I know, it sounds like I'm hording this stuff, but I'm well aware of its rarity, so I jump on the opportunity to obtain these.
I had a glass one on my '86 I had, but removed it before I sold it. Good thing.. the guy I sold my '86 to parted it out on eBay a few days after I sold it to him. (I have picts of the roof on my former'86).
Good luck trying to find one. I have been looking for about three years, and have since found three. So I guess it safe to say, that it'll take you a year to find one... one per year.
