Sure....just take your doors off.....put duct tape up to the original door level. Next put a racing net in place of the windows(Or better yet, a roll of Saranwrap). Hey, why not cut out the floors for that Paul Walker FNF look. Funny how the floor pan falls out....but it's intact a minute later......Or better yet.....throw your motor on a Big Wheel....now those were the sh*t.....

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.................. ....

Once again do a search and you will see that 2000 is hard enough to reach and probably only attainable on a serious racecar. I'm talking tube frame and carbon fiber body panels costing in excess of $50,000 if not more.

1000lbs is a big stretch! You would need to build a full tube chassis, use all fiberglass or CF body panels, no interior except for roll cage(to stiff tube chassis) a seat, shifter, pedals and steering wheel. Then use high $$$ lightweight wheels, a non turbo motor that is built to hell, and maybe..just maybe you'll have a 1800lbs car. A 1000lbs FC is impossible...I hate to say it. Motor = 250lbs minimum
Motor acc. = 200lbs+
driveline = 200lbs+
body = 400lbs+
chassis = 300lbs+
interior parts = 200lbs+
wheels/tires = 100lbs+
This doesn't inlucde all the little things that add up, like brakes, suspension, bolt ons, guages, etc etc etc

first off, get rid of that second rotor, you don't need it. Or better yet, get a 2-stroke motorcycle motor.. Next, swap over to a snowmobile CVT for your transmisison. Get yourself a 4-wheeler differential with some sort of custom axles made to fit. Then go and get yourself the biggest motorcycle brakes you can find.. then get some ultra-light suspension components, chop the car in half lengthwise (now half as long as it originally was) and build yourself a full chromoly frame with no support besides what is absolutely necessary to hold it together. You won't have a roof or windshield on the car anymore, hope you didn't need one.. rip off all the doors, windows, passenger seat, etc.. convert over to a one-wheel front end (don't need the second one), get rid of all the body panels too and replace them with one layer of duct tape. Now yank the fuel tank off of your lawnmower and mount that sucker on there. Put the original pedal assembly in it, and you've got yourself a 1000 lb RX-7

My guess is a newbie with a legit q.
It is not possible to make your car weigh that little for normal use, and it would not be wanted either. Most racecars weigh twice what you are after, and are plenty fast at that weight. Your car weighs about 2700 lbs right now. From a question like that, i am certain you are not at the driving level of a 1000 lb vehicle (which would also sport a couple thousand horsepower), so stick to at least a one tonne car until you get some serious lessons.
You would be much better off to spend the money on a 3 rotor.
For some easy weight mods, remove all emissions, interior, and seats (replace with racing seats). Replace windows with Lexan, and body with fibre glass. But short of building your own car (or go cart, more likely), you will never hit 1000 lbs.

Wow, I'm hung over. Damn you, 25 cent beer! (CDN dollars too, and I spent 7 dollars- I think- did I mention I'm a 140 lb 19 year old? Uggg)
