How much space is needed between a FMIC and radiator?
Im now planning out where Im going to put everything for my FMIC setup, and I had a question. I was looking onto putting the IC core in the space where the stock A/C condenser is. I think it will be a secure place, and I can fit a decent sized core in there. Now, with the IC placed there, there will be little to no empty space between the IC and the radiator. Will this cause cooling problems? The fan wil have to pull ait through both the IC core and the rad. If it will cause a problem I will mount the IC further out, or make bracketry to at least space it out a few inches. I figured there should be at least some space between them for the fan to source air to pull through from, but I wasnt positive. Any comments?

You can stick them right on top of each other just as long as you make sure to have a strong fan. Even if you leave some space the air will still have to get through. I would try to create some shrouds to direct as much air through the rad/oil/fmic as possible.

I will either be using the stock fan, or a 3.8 taurus E-fan I have laying around. The shroud of the E-fan fits over my Koyo rad perfectly, so I may use that. I will be making provisions for proper ducting, just wasnt sure if I should leave a few inches beween the rad and IC, or if it was ok for them to be very close.

I have a spearco 3' by something (really f..... big) IC, and I mounted it directly against the rad. I flipped the oil cooler around using new lines and Mazdatrix adapters for proper fitment. It's actually a good setup due the the lack of lag by eliminating extremely long IC piping. Other than that I also run the 2800 cfm black majic. Should work nice for ya if that helps.
