Question How much a RX-7 worth

How much a 1990 RX-7 convertible, red, manula transmission with 17k miles worth. I know a guy that has one and want to sell it but how much he can ask for? Apperently the car still smell s like new, well a car with that mileage is still a new car. Mine is a 1992 Convertible and has 90k on the clock and is in great shape, auto and I think mine worth at least $7000,00. Help guys.
Carlos.

91 Vert (yours...I won't go into why it is not a 92...) with 90K should be worth around 4-5K depending on condition with those miles. I'd even considering (from a buyers perspective) lowering any offer i'd make due to the slushbox (autotranny).

That 90, does it only have 17K miles?

17K original miles on a 90 vert? If that is true it would be a collector item of sorts. As Josepi pointed out your 91 (there was no 92 model year) would have a resale value of between $4-5k. The value you would be able to claim for insurance reasons would be around $7k but cars almost never sell for 'book' value. I paid $5,300 for a near mint 88 vert 2 years ago. That is more than the average would go for because there were extensive records on the car and it was from the original owner, always garaged, ect.... 2 years later still runs flawlessly.
Judging the value on that 90' is tough. It depends on how much you want the car. I would buy it if I had the money to store for a mid life crises or something. I would probabley "value" it between 10-15k, depending on your perspective.

6-7k is more like what you should ask for it. I sold mine for 6k with 60k on it.

i got a question.. i have a 91 rx7 and put about 2500 in repairs into it. exaust, window motors, airbag reg. the only thing wrong with it are the conv. motors, the dealership says they're shot and they are 1300 a piece.

It only has 60000 miles on it, you think i can get 6k out of it ?

if you plan on driving it I'd stay away from a car with only 17k. it needs to be driven. the motor wouldn't last long if you start driving it often now.

I apologize for the wrong year, yes my car is 1991, 1 owner and always graged, the former owner was a single lady and she had records for the car. The guy who had the 90 with 17k miles wants around $15.000 for the car, he said the car was his father car and he used very little. My oppinion was that this car is a collectors.
