If you have a fully ported wastegate, probably close to stock since you will probably only be hitting around 6 PSI without a boost controller.

lol yep what he said. When I got my wastegate ported (huge port) I couldn't get past 5.5psi for ****! then as soon as I put a boost controller on it I was able to up the boost. This is normal, just get a mbc for now or if you have the cash get and ebc. Also you may want to get an safc and rewire your fuel pump.

But with the RB turbo-back isnt it necessary to port the wastegate?

I don't understand why some people have trouble with boosting over 5.5 or 6psi when they port their waste gate. I run a full 2.5" exhaust, and have all the emissions equipment removed, and blocked off, along with the other usual mods. (FCD, intake, walboro, air bypass valve vented to atmosphere via check valve.)

I ported the wastegate on my S4 turbo to about 30mm, and welded a new flapper in place. I wired open the twin scroll flapper. I was able to boost 10-12psi, no problem, the only real issue was fuel at 12psi+

Back to your question, depending on what amount of boost you are running, will determine overall horsepower. I've read on this forum that 12-14psi can yield 200-220rwhp. I however, do not have any evidence to back this up.

ok first off do you have a boost controller?? If you said yes to that then that is why you are boosting bast 5.5-6psi however if you don't have a boost controller and you are boosting past said amount then your port job on your turbo sucks.

No I do not have a boost controller. I was able to run this kind of boost before porting, and after. I am not the only one who has done this, a good friend of mine is also capable of boosting to 10psi no problem. I've also read other posts by other members who are able to do so. As far as the porting job, maybe it does suck, I don't know. Needless to say, the oil and coolant seals on the 130k+ turbo decided to die, so the turbo is being replaced at the present time.

The whole point of porting the wastegate is so your boost does NOT creep past what it is set to open to stock. If you ported it, and are still boosting past 6psi, with no boost controller, then it is boost creep, and you didnt port large enough.
