How much hp??

I sending my engine to Kevin Landers and he'll be street porting both the intake and the exhaust. I'm putting on the rb exaust with supertrapp tip. Haven't decided on headers yet (any suggestions?). Buying the msd ignition and a knn intake. This is just for starters. How much horsepower do you think i'll have after this? Top speed?

-I'm not really sure what else i can do to upgrade a n/a.....

get an rb header for sure, the size of a street port can vary sodepending on how large the port it will determine your power output alot, as for making more power i'd look into a standalot although not considered needed for your aplication i but you can tune a good bit more power out of it

there is only one header on a rx7... a RB header is a good bang for the buck, there is better, but it is still cheap, wile giving good performance.

some kind of mid-pipe (pre-silencer, or high flow cat if you have to have emissions)

Something for tuning, your choice according to your budget, anything from a SAFC or E-Manage to a stand-alone.

horsepower? cant be certain, butdno it and let us know...

top speed? why ask this? are you going to the salt flats? well, lets just say fast as i was in a bone stock 86GXL following a 90 GTU and we were both going 150+/- a mph for a few minutes.... so i would say we were doing 140+ (speedos are hardly ever accurate at those speeds) that was stock (86) and mostly stock, only exhaust (90)....

I was hoping to reach 180bhp. For the people that have had their engines rebuilt by Kevin Landers: does he size the streetport acording to his custumer's needs?

I'm not very familiar with the tuning aspect. What is SAFC, E-Manage, stand-alone?

I wouldn't say the salt flats, but a flat highway in Montana goes a long long way

I've heard many claims of NAs doing around 150 with exhuast and intake or whatever, but my na was faster than most and did about 135, maybe it keeps pulling but if it does it'd take a few minutes to get there and thats crazy. but i'd probably have to through a bs flag on that

yeah, , and especially if they were going off of the stock Speedo, the stock speedo is wayyyy off when you get above 90-95 mph, designed to lie to you so you dont really go that fast i guess, lol

my guess on a stock would be about 110-115 realistically, and with 160-170 at the wheels more like 125-130 maybe, but, who the hell NEEDS to go much faster than that anyways, its more of the time it takes to get there that matters

just my .02

I've had an engine built by Kevin, good guy to work with he will do pretty much what you want for a port. This car is an auto? hahaha shitty

It's a least once a week that there's a thread asking for the human dynonometers. Only a DYNO can tell you how much hp you'll have. At the very least do a search for the mods you have and guess on your own.

If you were in 5th gear i could understand that, but i've hit 120 in mine with low compression and leaky exhaust

I hit 125 racing a turboed SE-R with a cone filter and true dual and 75psi compression because of a bad rotor oil seal. Beat that LoL
And to the thread starter, you need to read a bit before you do all this stuff..

in a georgian winter, i got up to 130 slightly downhill, headlights sleepy. i could maintain 125 easily in 4thgear at redline. No mods at all, 91,000 on odo. No BS! but since some of you say speedos dont work at high speeds, im not sure now. damn, a bit off topic huh?

Put your BS meter up already...your "guess on a stock" is 110-115...c'mon, not to much experience there, eh. "With 160-170 at the wheels more like 125-130 maybe"...yeah your experience speaks for itself.

90 vert with terrible compression on six faces (~72psi), full exhaust, intake, and S-AFC, dynoed at an incredible 125 rwhp...easily hits 120, after that it just hits a wall.

88TII dynoed at ~187rwhp, topped out at 157mph, (mind you, on a 4 mile flat, no civilization for miles).

Personal experience speaks for itself, not hearsay. And, you can't throw a B.S. flag at someone while your "guessing".

Yes, but i KNOW the stock speedo isnt very far off at those speeds, as a matter of fact at 75 mph it is off by 1-2 mph (had it tested for ticket reasons recently :-P) as far as the BS meter, the GXL was in the draft of the GTU, but as i said the GTU didnt have much done either, it was on a long Stretch of I-85, slight downhill start then virtually flat.

Call BS all you want, but put me on a polygraph and i would love to see you tell me i am cheating the damn thing, i SWEAR that we did this. I have no reason to lie, i have many posts on TeamFC3S, look there, i stake my reputation that we WERE in fact going that fast, headlights down/GTU had a hood raising kit if it matters/no mods on GXL/intake (APEXi filter sucking hot air which is why ididnt list it before) on GTU (maybe the cats being knocked out too, cant recall we did alot to his car within the couple months surrounding the day we went to D1)

Everyone here is going to try and tell me that they couldnt believe their car would be able to do this? also, the GXL only had 89k miles on it i believe and great compression. It is by far the best pulling stock car i have ridden in. The GTU, hell i dont know why i am defending myself here. Look, i said we did it, i swear we did, if you choose not to believe this possible, ok.

HOWEVER, on a Top Gear episode with a 86GXL i believe vs a Porsche 944(? i think) he took the FC to 130 mph on an air strip and rode it (around a large oval path), calling it a 130+ mph sports car from factory (the Porsche and the FC)

call BS on me if you wish, but to think are cars are not capable of such a thing is ignorance in my eyes...

Oh ya, and inform me what magical computer makes the Speedo read way off at higher MPH's? there is no such thing, you are referring to how far it becomes at those speeds and this is because it is off by a MPH for every so many MPH, i.e. reads 74 at 70 mph, therefore for every 17.5 mph you go the speedometer is off by 1 mph, or for every mph you go the speedo gets farther and farther off by .057 mph or so... we have MECHANICAL speedos on our cars, meaning no computer and no fancy adjustment at some magical speed. so please enlighten me what the heck you are talking about, i normally dont rag on someone soo hard, but you callin BS on me, while i am telling the truth, kinda got under my skin.

The top gear video is right. It's a 130+ car. But that doesn't mean it will hit 140. I have a cone intake and straight back headers and pipes on my 88 GTU but I can't go much faster than 140 on the stock speedo.
