how much gear oil in tranny?

how much gear oil in tranny?

i know it about 2 and 1/2 quarts but other than that how would i know when do i have engough gear oil in the tranny?

Fill until the gear oil starts flowing out of the fill hole... Just make sure the car is level before starting to fill.

so i have to pump it in with out the jack stands? thats going to be kinda hard

You could put it on 4 jackstands, or drive the rear end up on car ramps and jack the front up. I've done that before. Or if you have access to a shop lift, that's even better!

You can do it with just the driver's side jacked up. It's just that you'll have to fill it until you can feel (with your little finger) that the oil is near the hole. Then leave the plug out, put a drain pan under it, and let the car down. The excess will run out and it'll be at exactly the right level. Now put the plug back in.

i ran a tube down from the inside with the shift boot and bezal removed worked pretty nice
